Zamach's WoTLK Gear List

d503
Seems like the mouseovers on the wotlk.wowhead.com links are no longer working...perhaps we need to migrate our links over to www.wowhead.com since the database is likely ticking over to live wowhead now.

**FALSE ALARM** They're working now...but wotlk.wowhead.com may go away at some point...

*sigh*

nice post, very useful ... sadly though, not all Tankadin's are Belfs. How about some Alliance rep rewards as well?

These have been covered before in this thread, but I wanted to make a special list as these will be (in part) what I'm going to be after when I hit 80.

Epic Tanking drops from Heroics:
Bracers of the Herald - Herald Volazj, Heroic Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom
Ancient Aligned Girdle - Anub'arak, Heroic Azjol-Nerub
Royal Crest of Lordaeron - Dark Runed Chest (Mal'Ganis), Heroic CoT: The Culling of Stratholme
Keystone Great-Ring - The Prophet Tharon'ja, Heroic Drak'Tharon Keep
Bolstered Legplates - Cyanigosa, Heroic Violet Hold
Red Sword of Courage - King Ymiron, Heroic Utgarde Pinnacle

Personally, I'm going to try to go after almost all of these except for the Keystone Great-Ring, as it has no defense, and I'm probably going to skip the legs as well because of the availability of other similar items. The sword and shield will definitely be near the top of my priority list, however.

Man, it seems all tanking gear is from dungeon quests or heroic boss drops, very few from regular dungeon drops.

I can't browse Wowhead, what level requirement are the blue craftables?

From what ive seen the blue craftables start at 76-77? most by 78.

And yes, I too have noticed tank drops very limited from quest rewards and regular instance loot. alot of ret/healing gear.

hmmm.

Ok I'm lazy, but I'd be curious to actually have the lvl 70 epics in that list as well to see when it's time to replace one.

Example, I was quite shocked to see 3 items from regular Nexus looked like upgrades to my current tank gear... especially the Thundra Shoulders vs my T5 crystalforge shoulders.

I sure don't want to skip something that will be an upgrade for a while over my old epic stuff.

(Other nexus upgrades are the gloves, better than Maiden's, and apparently boots over the sabattons of the righteous defender (badge gear))
Ryoku
Burning Skull Pendant dropped for me from trash in Gundrak normal

Block set

Does anyone have time to make a blockset out of that gearlist?
Easy to get to 540def as well?
I imagine with the changes to strength a blockset would be even more impressive.

Re: Zamach's WoTLK Gear List

Two trinkets that should be added

Sonic Booster - Crafted by Enginners
Essence of Gossamer - Drops from Hadronox in heroic Azjol-Nerub

What about shields? I've only seen a couple from quest rewards and a blue crafted one (that I'm carrying) Saronite Defender...
Petrus
Weapons and Shields are found on page 2.

Zomg! Thank you so much for doing the legwork and providing item links. It's making my life so easy i can't honestly express my current gratitude. It's great to be able to mouse over items and check stats then go figure out if im the appropriate level to go do the quest for them with just a click. Unfortunately i only got through to the shoulder section before WoWhead went down for maintenance Sad DAMN THEM!
