Looking for an addon to evaluate my gear...

If you're anything like me, you have several pieces of gear in your bags or bank collected from quests, drops, and the like, that you held on to "just in case".

Eventually my hoard ends up taking up too much space, so I'm looking for an addon (or even a macro) that would take a query like "Shoulders, most AP", and display the most suitable item in my inventory.

I guess I could go through it all, but ugh...

I use Ratingbuster and Tankpoints. Make sure you turn on the stats summary (should be on by default) so it shows a nice list of stats and differences for easy comparing of different pieces of gear. The stat/combat table calculator from tankpoints is also very useful. They're both written by the same author, and is now updated to take into account the avoidance diminishing returns.
