divine sacrifce

Couldnt find it fast but is it capped at 150% dmg atm? Or does bubble negate that 150% hp maximum, having an arguement with guildies on XT hard for tantrums.

The 150% damage cap is in the tooltip for the talent.

The fact that you don't take the damage IN the bubble doesn't change the fact that it still mitigates only a total of 150% damage. So no, you don't get to mitigate ZOMGmillions of damage because you bubble. ;)

Re: divine sacrifce

its actual damage you take, if you bubble, it stays on until you are out of the bubble and you take 150% damage or when it fades

Re: divine sacrifce

I had 28.5k HP for General Vezax as a Ret and Divine Sacrifice absorbed 95,882. Another Ret in the raid absorbed 86,443 and the Holy Paladin absorbed 56,695. I had the third Divine Sacrifice, so I was mitigating damage with the highest stack of the shadow debuff.

239,020 less raid damage taken during the most healing intensive part of the fight is pretty clutch. If we really wanted to, we could have used the Divine Sacrifice twice (at the start with Hand of Protection) to mitigate even more.

Re: divine sacrifce

I believe it works like this:
Maximum Absorbed Per Attack: 150% of your health
Maximum Absorbed total over duration of buff: Unlimited

Yes, raidwall is amazing.

Re: divine sacrifce

hah i knew it,

We were doing hardmode XT but with 5 healers the tantrums are pretty hard to live through. We had 2 ret paladins but the other one claimed it only absorbs 150% total dmg. Since I didn't have the talent i had to trust him on that, he is a very good player but missed the memo here i gues:). Now il respec for our next trys to get us to absorb 3/4 tantrums minimum making surviving this fight a lot easier.

thanks

You don't have it? As I am always the MT, I rarely get to raidwall, but the improvements to SS are sexy.

Re: divine sacrifce

Well in my tankspec i dont for good reasons imo, and neither in my retspec which is kinda fail i gues :D . Im not tanking since for max dps we want the warrior tank to put up sunders and shattering throw.

Re: divine sacrifce

Can't all warriors do those things reguarless of if they are tanking?

Re: divine sacrifce

Yeh obviously they can, but they lose dmg in the process. usually i tank if threat is needed but thats not the issue here. So rather have me doing 100% dps on the heart than the warrior using the first 6 seconds of dps time to stack sunders.

Re: divine sacrifce

If you do end up tanking durring hardmode tries, you can Bubble+DivineSac and use the following macro to drop it instantly just before the boss comes out of the channeling:

/cancelaura divine Shield
/cancelaura divine Sacrifice

incorrect, its 150% damage taken breaks the dsac, not per attack, if it was per attack, it would always just kill you, which doesnt make ANY sense at all

If that were true, how am I absorbing 95,882 (336%) damage with 28.5k HP?

Re: divine sacrifce

It absorbs up to 150% per attack.

If I'm prot and have 43k or thereabouts hp raidbuffed I can absorb up to 132k damage per hit on someone else... if it were 150% in total we'd know about it from tantrums..

The average raid on XT has a couple of tanks at about 40k hp each and then a ton of dps and healers ranging from 20-25k hp each... even with the nerf to tantrum damage, add it all together on 25 man and one tick would knock off Dsac if it worked as 150% of your hp and that;s it method. But it doesn't.
