A New Rotation?

A New Rotation?

Given the combination of the Libram of Obstruction and Shield of Righteousness, would we need to consider a different rotation that judges earlier to allow more damage while using Holy Shield and Shield of Righteousness?

In 6969 your shor is buffed by the libram every ~2nd time. If you try to make it more often, you will prolly just lose some dps/tps.

I just start my rotation like:

-: Prep seal.
0s: Captain america pull ...
1.5s: HS
3s: HotR (this is the same time mobs get to me, usually i still need to run in to time it right)
4.5s: Judge
6s: ShoR

This gives me about 25-30k worth of threat in the first 6 secs of a fight on the primary target.
More then enough and also benefiting the libram bonus asap. My HotR actually hits for just a little less then ShoR (both non-crit, without libram) so it doesn't really matter that much what I use as a 1st 6.

I also like to built up threat on secondary targets as soon as possible. AS and HotR early on in the fight make sure of that.

Meh.

(Start) HotR -> HS -> Judgement -> ShoR -> ShoR.

After start HS -> Judgement -> ShoR -> ShoR -> HotR when it fits.

Personally I find using the 6 and 9 second macros do more then enough threat while letting me pay more attention to the fight itself.

The most aggro possible is probably created by opening with

HS->ShoR->Cons->HotR->Judge->ShoR

Since ShoR does way way more single target damage then HotR does. I still have HotR as the first in my macro though because getting aggro on several mobs is usually more of an issue then holding just one esp in the first few sec.

I care about threat on fights that have little to no raid dmg. There are a few where dps is really close to me for the first 30 seconds orso. I'd rather be on the safe side and get a comfortable lead so I can help cleanse myself, have time to lead, make adjustments to tactics, etc.

And no, my threat doesn't suck (around 5-6k tps on average, without JoL) but my dps-ers are really good.

Once your dps is getting nicely geared they will be close to you. The brother of one of our tankteam has a DK that pushes close to 6k DPS. It's always nice if your dps can go all out early on in a bossfight.

Allowing your dps to go full out, early on in a fight is why I still care about threat.

Anub'rekhan comes to mind... An easy tank and spank boss. Though the 16 seconds 'silence' (in 10-man i don't kite, just stand there and eat it) can hit as early on as 1 minute into the fight. It's nice to have a comfortable lead by then so your dps can continue to nuke him.

Again, immaterial.
You get time in the 25man to get a threat lead, in the 10 you get enough burst threat from 2x powered up ShoRs anyway.
The rotation also works better for AW abuse ;p

The TPS difference isn't particularly high, dropping consec is kinda shrug.
I sit in the swarm and always have.
My TPS bounces between 4.5 and 7k.

It's enough, they never catch up.
Anub isn't even remotely an example of a TPS fight - You really need to spend some time tanking Malygos, Thaddius(*), Sapphiron(*With high DPS ranged).

If you can pull out enough of a lead to make 3 sparks + hero with salv abuse fine on Malygos then you are in no need to ramp your TPS.
Therefore you should focus on your survivability.
If you think spamming 2 macros and not paying attention is going to make you a good tank I'm afraid you are going to have a lot to learn on the (hopefully) much harder upcoming content.
