Damage mitigation Vs other classes

Warrior tanks are really good
Druid tanks are really ok
Paladin tanks are really ok

My biggest problem is that I can keep up on threat, or keep up on effective health, but not on both at the same time.

Our biggest problems as a tank are:

talents spread too thin
stats spread way too thin
No shield-wall like emergency button
No competitor to TC/Devo

I really wished those "rumored" changes had gone through, because that would have solved my block value problem and my TC/Shield wall problem.

On my warlock I'd rather have salv/king/wis with JoW on the mob with prot pally dps over salv/king/mark and whatever druids do.

Well Kalbear, while I agree that bear tanks rock for tanking physical mobs, you do fail at the point with spellcasting.

Yes, druids gain health faster than any other class, with a stamina boost form talents and bear form of a factor of 1,538, while paladins only gain 1,16. That might give you more effective HP, but in reality, when my paladin has 23k HP in t5 fully raid buffed, a bear needs 25,5k to be equal to that. So, it's doable, but there's also the factor with less healing involved.

Now, as I said earlier, paladins and warriors take better use of buffs that increase armor, we can use emergency buttons and we can use consumables.

And buffs, feral druids have three buffs, but only one of them is really usable while tanking: LotP. Innervat and battle ress is usable alot. And about strength of MotW, I would say it goes out at roughly the at same strength as divine spirit, maybe even less. And you only need one druid in raid for it.

So, if druids are able to tank physical damage bosses better and with better threat generation than any other class, and to have second highest effective health vs casters (if you say so), while having battle ress, innervate, lotp and not to forget cat form, please, tell me what downsides do you have? Oh, and 15% chance to avoid AOE damage....

To me, if you look with the exception of having not so good AOE-tanking, I would say that it sounds like feral druids are the best tanks in game except for few gimmick fights. And that while having decent talents in the same tree which isn't nearly as boated as prot paladin tree...

Get the point?

Feral tree is 56 talent points in total, prot paladin tree is 69 points, prot warrior tree is 62 points.

Ok, you can have our AOE-tanking capabilities if you gave up entire cat form. Would you do it?

That's how the situation is with the other tanks.

"All tanks are hybrids, but some tanks are more hybrid than others"

Having a decent DPS-form, that now has been made well to synergize with tanking gear, making that you can offtank something really weak with DPS gear ,and you can do really mediocre DPS with tanking gear.
And, to have a different pool to heal with, that also regenerates while you're doing DPS? And at the same time have as good healing capabilities of a prot paladin?

Call me snob, or whatever, but maybe the warriors were right about the overpoweredness of druids?
You lose at one aspect (AOE-tanking), but win at every single other point (utility, mitigation, single-target threat, DPS, roleswapping, healing and whatever else you can find).

To me, that sounds like an overpowered class/spec. And if druids are overpowered, then we are right to complain about druids.

(I can surely do the difference between warriors and druids, but that is not something you want to see, because then warriors lose by so much it's not even funny. So ok ,they're better vs spell damage, but druids have every other aspect on them...)

There's something you forgot about druids.

Scaling.

Druids scale wonderfully in t4 level of gear, they have more hp, more armor, and possibly higher threat than both warrior and paladins. Then what? Then they don't really scale. There's no leather tanking gear except of tiers. Actually druids have very little improvement over the course of t5 and t6 content, while warriors and paladins grow up. Our war MT is very close to armor cap while fullbuffed and so am i. Both of us tend to have more than 21k HP and he can get to 25k without too many problems.

Druids aren't that OP like many people tend to say. They are OP in lower end content, but fail at scaling in the true end-game. Nowadays, druids for us tank only 2 things: abominations in MH, and bloodboil in BT. And occasionally OT on Supremus if we have only 1 prot war in raid.

Exactly, I was just putting it at how it doesn't always seem like druids are doing too well, jusqt because of that.

But they need to look at the bright side, they get hybridized gear for a hybrid role.

I know that druids stops at T4-T5, and I'm already at the same amount of HP as our feral druid (I have 16,5k unbuffed).

So, for me, it's no worries tbh.

But my point was that there might be a reason why ferals are being disliked a bit by prot paladins.

I mean, the only thing that's holding them back is crappy items. If their gear scaled as well as ours does, the situation would have different. And they don't need to feel worthless if they're not maintanking.
