On the Effectiveness of Various Threat Stats for Tankadins

Holy shield is the ability we have that causes the most threat, avoidance works AGAINST that ability. If you want to max out threat in a spesific set of gear, drop some avoidance in favor of blockrating - IF you are the maintank.

In conclusion, the new 35 badge bracers with expertise rating on it makes it higher mitigation AND threat piece for that slot for MTing raid bosses (and not worried about block value for AoE) compared to Vambraces, Green Fortress, heroic Arc one, or even VR one.

Good post, but there's one stat you skipped. Spell crit.

My gut instinct says that it's not a good stat to stack, however it would be nice to have some numbers showing how bad/not bad spell crit chance is.

Spell Crit should be a very bad threat stat because:

1. Of all our threat sources, only JoR/JoV can spell crit
2. Spell crit is almost twice as expensive as spell hit in terms of rating to get 1%
3. A spell crit only adds 50% of normal spell damage, whereas coverting a spell miss to a spell hit gives you 100% of normal spell damage.

I'll throw up some numbers, but expect them to show it as much worse than even hit rating.

cordelia, you're missing that HS can also be spell-missed/spell-hit depending. That changes things more closely towards what dorvan initially listed.
