Someone mentioned a thread on how reckoning was killing him in Prince, so I decided to do a bit of math.
Assuming a 5-minute boss fight, with an average attack frequency of 2.0, the tankadin will take 150 individual sources of damage.
You would expect 11-12 reckoning procs over this time-frame. 11 procs means 33 individual sources of damage removed(8 seconds each, not counting intial damage, means 3 damage sources removed per proc), leaving 117 chances to proc, modeled as a binomial produces Expected # of procs as 11.7.
11 extra attacks, parried @ 15%, results in 1.6 extra parries. 1.6/150 * (0.5 damage increase) = 0.55% increase in boss damage.
It seems like, generally, reckoning doesn't increase boss damage significantly.
However, this was assuming an incoming attack speed of 2.0. Remember that reckoning procs off all kinds of damage. So spells, AE effects, DoT type damage will all proc reckoning.
Even still, I don't think this accounts for anecdotal reports of dying during Prince. What is happening here, I think, is that reckoning is increasing spike damage. A 0.55% increase in boss damage is nothing significant, but if it happens within a critical within an 8 second period, which naturally makes up only 2.7%(8/300) of the overall damage intake, then your increase in damage taken during this 8 second period is increased 20%, which is probably just enough burst damage to kill the tank.
Also of note is that multiple faster attacks are more likely to proc reckoning, and therefore parry, than slower attacks. e.g thrash for Prince phase 2.
