Hm

I thought the swing Holy damage from SoV was independent of the refreshing effect.

The added holy damage with 5 stacks up and the renewal of the stacks definitely act independently and can both be resisted independently from one another. I just went through ZA and saw this happening quite often.

Yeah, what exactly did you see?

Seal does damage but stack doesn't refresh?
Seal damage is resisted but stack refreshes?
Seal damage is resisted and stack doesn't refresh?

My intuitive guess would be that the two in green are possible but the red one isn't; guess it depends if the two things are part of a single effect or if they're concatenated.

Okay - so I conclude that a SoV proc on a 5-stacked target throws two mini-spells at the target, with mutually independent effects:

1. A holy zap inflicting 30+C*SD damage, which can miss-resist (?or be partially resisted?)

2. A binary spell which tries to set the Holy Vengeance timer to 15, and which can miss-resist.
