Anyone get ahold of a beta key?

Watched the trailer and sample match - this looks way, way too close to MtG for copyright purposes to me. *shrug*

Nothing yet for me, but I can't wait to get my hands on this game.

One of my friends had put off learning about the game assuming it was an online version of the TCG. His mate got into the beta and after watching a game my friend is now very excited for this too.

In the meantime you can play the open beta of Solforge [by a colaboration of people who made Ascention and Magic the Gathering] via steam and I have to say it plays well and looks miles better than Hearthstone.

Add to this the backlash from the WOW TCG being cancelled and I expect Hearthstone to be an unpleasent place on the European Servers when it goes into open beta.

I will give Hearthstone a go but I think Solforge pretty much nailed it.

I gave SolForge a go but... it just didn't grab me. It could well just be that it's still beta and there's stuff not implemented yet, but for some reason the gameplay seemed rather bland. It's odd as I'm not sure what I can really call out as not being fun but I have it an hour and a half and it never once really excited me despite the fact I really like the 'level up' mechanic intellectually, in practice it just didn't really seem interesting. Especially compared to say, Duel of Champions, which I played the crap out of and still go back to now and then I just can't see myself logging back into SolForge unless there are big changes.

The simple fact it allows you to log with the same battletag as wow-d3-sc2 means it is region wide

anyone else having issues getting it to install?

Got zero trouble installing. What I DID get the first day were trouble logging, but apparently the server was having hissy fits.

I'm up to 9W/4L over the weekend, plus defeated all the Expert AI (DAMN Uther can be a bitch). Mages can be annoying as all hell, but that went easier as I got used to counting Poly/Flamestrikes and bait them with Blessings.

Just started playing it and it's pretty fun so far, Warrior decks seem to be able to get really powerful if you can't keep up constant attacks on them. The 'add 2 armour' stacking can be incredibly hard to break through if they have enough Taunt enabled minions to keep them safe.

Still working my way through getting all the classes their full 20 basic cards so I'm a total noob, but enjoying it nonetheless! Oh, and btag is Suthainn#1333 if anyone wants someone to crush, US region.

im still working on the classes as well, so dont feel too bad.

Haven't met a player Warrior, and Garrosh wasn't much of a threat even on expert.
Armor is nice and all that but in the end, it's nothing but a 2 heal for 2. I'd much rather have almost any other HP.

Meanwhile, Mage still feels like hell to play against, and I've read about a SuiLock deck that looks mighty nice on paper.

Great arena play this morning ^^

Oponent: rogue, 8 health and enough damage on the board to kill me.
Me: 10 mana, 1 card in my hand wich costs 12 mana (one of the giants).

My turn: Pick a card, figuring I lost since there was nothing in my deck that could save me.
I get Tracking, cost 1, pick 3 cards, pick one, discard the others. Kill command, Arcane shot and King Crush.
Legendary Dino ^^ 9 mana, 8/8 attack/health and charge ^^ I win ^^ but that was awfully close

I had the most beautiful combo ever versus a warrior last night... playing priest, he has 24 life, has me down to 2 life and I have no minions out. I already had a Charge I'd copied from him earlier, a PW:S and 2 Divine Spirits, figure I may as well just get it over with and take my last turn. I draw a Lightspawn... 0/5, damage changes to match health... dear gods, the smile on my face. PW:S takes it to 0/7, Divine Spirit 1 to 0/14, number 2 to 0/28, it's damage switches to match its new health... 28/28 and it has Charge. He had *no* idea what hit him, it was glorious

Had a similar one, but with the 1/1 Pally token. it's down to 7/15 with his three mobs that cover 9 damage across them, but no taunter. I could hold a couple turns, but then I draw Blessed Champion (doubles attack).

Pop quizz. what does a 1/1 do when buffed with BoM, BoK, then BC?
Answer: IT HURTS (16 damage actually :-p)

i dont remember exact cards (what happens when i cant sleep at 4am, and decide to play hearthstone)
but playing warlock vs warlock, we were 1 and 3 hp when i drew a dread infernal, and was kinda tempted to see if i could commit suicide and still win, ended up just killing him with it though (this was after sacrificial pacts, a twisting nether, a total of 3 hellfires, and quite a few soul siphons between us lol)

Finally got an invite. Gotta check it out when I get home.

dont you know that hogger is unbeatable, therefore you obviously hacked to beat him?

(sorry to hear this, i guess open a ticket/submit bug report and see what they say? i havent heard of this issue before so i have no idea)

Still disappointed at the matchmaking atm, seembs completely broken =(
