Crushing blows...

Hi
I finally reached uncrushability. I was wondering in which cases it was necessary to be uncrushable.

- 5 man instance: No
- 5 man heroique: yes on bosses and what about the trash?
- Kara: bosses yes what about the trash?

I am not even asking about the 25 man instances since i won't go there for a very long time ^^

as far as i know heroics require 485 def. and no uncrushable.
All Raid bosses require uncrushable status although some early kara bosses can be done while still being crushable for around 5% or less.

As for raid instance trash...i remember somebody saying that all BUT magtheridon's trash cannot crush, but somebody with raid experience should be able to provide accurate info on this matter.

If a mob has a level, it can't crush. If a mob has a ?? is a boss and probably can crush.

The only exceptions are the trashs in Maghteridon lair that can crush, and the 4 adds on Kaelthas that are 73 and can crush.

Personally as a 25man MT i prefer to stay uncrushable at all times, be it kara trash or tanking voidreaver. if you can acheive it without gimping your stats too much then stay uncrushable. The damage spikes crushing can give can cause havoc on your healers, even in trash. So try and be kind to them.

The only time i'd suggest becoming uncrushable is if your doing heroics and your finding your not taking enough damage, therefore your getting mana-screwed, ofc then just drop some tank gear for a lil spell damage gear for more agro and more mana.

Actually the rule is, any mob 3 levels above you, boss or not, can crush. However, at level 70 this becomes moot, as you won't be encountering any trash level 73. Bosses with the ?? react as if they're 3 levels above a given player, which is where their crush comes from.

But it's helpful to keep in mind as you're leveling new prot pallies, that until you reach 70, there are various trash mobs that can crush you until that point.

Kael'thas' advicors are 73 and they crush. They might not be considered trash tho

Only level 73 and Bosses in raid Instances can crush, bosses in Heroic are Level 72 and do not crush.

Mag's adds do crush. So just watch out for that.

...and more unexpectedly, the trash leading up to Mags as well...the only level 72 mobs I know that can crush.

All mobs that is (your level)+3 can do a crushing blow on you.
and about bosses, they're always by theory 3+ lvl compare to the target they're hitting.
