New Tank Pls help

Hello I Recently re rolled to tank i was Holy and i wanted to go tank for my guild and i have been having some major issues when i run Heroics so far i always seem to take too much damage i don't have enough HP ppl say and i kinda have a prob with holding agro not too bad but some random times i lose it if i could get any help at all with Gear where to go with it things i could do to improve myself things im overlooking just anything really would Be awsome Thanks and here is my Armory link

Your gear is fine for heroics. Make sure you take a well geared healer and if they're still complaining you could try CC (although I'd imagine using CC would be frowned upon on these boards ) The only glaring thing is a lack of helm enchant - do a couple of Argent Crusade dailies to get yourself that last 2k rep and buy the 37stam/20defense helm enchant.

As for taking too much damage - make sure Righteous Fury is up at all times, do what you can to keep your Holy Shield up at all times. Using the 969 Rotation helps with that. Also make sure you never have your back to mobs because if you do, you are unable to dodge,parry or block.

Your gear looks solid, you should really pick up JotJ in your talents though i would think.

Practice the 6969 rotation on random mobs for a while till youve got it sorted (I put all my 6s on the top action bar and all the 9s on the bottom action bar directly below them, helps me out)

If you're using this properly, unless one of your dps is both single targeting the wrong mob and doing very high dps you wont lose threat

30min hands should help this even more although i havent logged on since the patch to check this out

For an excellent spot to get the hang of the 96969 rotation go to the southern terrance of BT in SMV. Put BoS on, seal up SoL and pull a bunch of adds and the Patting BE instructor. He has plenty of health and the add swarm will keep your mana full while taking a while to die off.

Ok i Thank you guys for all the advice, one thing that i dont get though is this 969 thing i read all about it in the forums but i can not find exactly how to use this and with what skills do i include in it. Further explanation on this would be greatly apreciated thanks

keep in mind that heroics are actually hard...for about a week ....then you get a few epics and they are easy again. You will always need a good healer or a good tank or wicked dps...if you dont have at least one of those things then good luck to you.

And if you have all 3 they don't seem heroic anymore...

Knowing the fights and strategies helps a lot too. I have always said that the tank is usually the only one in the group that is expected to know the ins and outs of every fight and how each class/spec should be best used in that fight. I have a healer and DPS toon as well, and I find it helps to go in with one of them and see the instance and watch what is going on before you have to tank it.

this was all great advices thanks alot!!, i used alot of this and i have already tanked every Heroic 5 man and picked up some new gear, things are deff starting to look up thanks everyone for the help.
