imo Paladins are some of the weakest healers once people are geared, and instead our main purpose as a healer is our buffs + our surviveability

But yeah as far as your raid leader is concerned, your best option would be to look for a new, Tankadin friendly guild. Maybe see if your mates will come with you aswell?

Failing that, you could point out that:

Paladins are possibly best MT class vs:

Leo
Tidewalker (Although better used vs murlocs)
VR (Assuming high spelldmg and/or ret pally)

Invaluable OTs vs:

Solarian
Tidewalker
Hydross
Fathomlord (Hunter)
Alar (Adds)

And can "do" the others (Either as OT or MT) just as well as most warrior / druid tanks, but is really just a question of gear/skill for the others

vanifae sums it up pretty well tbh!

could that account get a redirect to the official wow's warrior forum please?

if you like to play the game, for you which YOU ay, in only a certain way then go for it. If that means you have to leave your guild, it's a valid choice. There will be 1 guild out there that does need a tankadin.

Tbh I was holy well into ssc before I swapped to tank. U pick up the gear, show your guildies some amazing heroic tanking and they start loving u. Then when a tank drops show it in 25 men and get accepted as a tank fulltime. I'm not maintanking most stuff as we got 2 fine geared, good skilled warriors of which 1 is always in the raid but i'm doing my fine share and accept I am not the maintank for anything where we're equal tanks but i'm more useful then the prot warrior when not tanking.

Kalbear is rigth in a way: guilds leaders keep looking for healers.

Whatever hybrid class you have they ll try to "Convert" you - shaman, druids, priest included. You should not do more than an equally warrior or druid to get a spot. If you feel you have to, it is just in game harrasment (or to stay polite "Management").
With this kind of management, even if you are allowed to get a 25man spot, it is likely they will willingly mess up on your try.
Don't respect Holy for the others. You have reached end game and build a top geared MT. If they don't give a **** for that they don't actually care for anything.
I leave guilds on guilds for this reason: you start with a bunch of friends sticking together, ending up talking about raid progression and arguing which spec Jennkins should get Very Happy

Tell him to keep up with the changes in talents and gear and that pally tanks are imo the best tanks there are. We absolutely rule in heroics and are perfectly capable of tanking in raids. Tell him that you're very sorry that he misses the old versions and that maybe he should go play without the expansion at a lvl 60 cap where CC and warrior tanks rule the day.

I guess my guild is a bit different then some because we run with two warriors and myself. We have a feral druid put on the tanking gear when needed, but thats the only time. For most of everything that is how we do it.

Was it hard for me to become one of the main three tanks in the guild. Yeah, an upward fight all the way from ground zero up. It wasn't untill two weeks ago when I was really shocked at how much the guild leader/raid leader thought of me. He had the other prot warrior slap on his dps gear and had me help out with Vashj and not throw on my healing gear. Which mind you I already had equiped.

It's not easy but if you can convince your raid leader to give you a shot, make sure to always bring your A game. I started off on the "paladin" fights like murlocs and those type of fights, but it's expected. Do a good job, and keep doing a good job till you get bettered geared and are given the shot to do something else. Run all the heroics you can, upgrade your gear with badges.
