Lord Jaraxxus

Figured I'd start a topic since we only had a generic one so far. I've been reading Tankspot's thread for information, and I know it'll be quite interesting just based on that and the video.

Here are the highlights from the Tankspot thread (Please post if you find something is incorrect, wrong, or needs to be more accurate!):

German Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrr87h1KdzU

Spiritus wrote:Tell you what, I'll post what I've found so far:

Video in German:

YouTube - Coliseum Preview Teil 4 Lord Jaraxxus

Ability Descriptions:

Fel Fireball (2 seconds cast, raid wide):
Jaraxxus Inflicts Heavy fire damage (about 25K) and additional 9K/ Second every 1 sec for 5 sec.
OR
Fel Fireball:
Inflicrs 18039 to 18962 Fire damage and an additional 7800 to 8200 Fire damamge every 1 sec for 5 sec.
This seems to be a "stay spread out" mechanic similar to Mimi's Napalm bomb. The graphic looks like three incinerates flying from him to the target. This is cast on random raid members, seemingly not in melee range. Seen 1st on video at 0:29.

Fel Inferno (Channeled AOE, 15 Yard):
Jaraxxus inflicts 3.5K Fire damage every second for 6 seconds.
I didn't catch on the video what the animation looked like... but I assume this is interrupted?

Fel Lightning (jumps up to 5 targets):
Jaraxxus inflicts about 10K Fire damage.
This looks like Green chain lightning. I do not know if it increases/decreases with each jump, but it can hit the melee as seen in the video at 0:35.

Fel Streak:
Jaraxxus Inflicts about 8.5K Fire damage.
or
Fel Streak: Inflicts about 8288 to 8712 Fire damage. 15 yard radius.
Assuming this is a main attack on the tank or a "just eat it" AoE spell on the tank/melee?

Incinerate Flesh (Debuff, needs to be removed ASAP):
Absorbs the next 60K healing received and decreases damage dealt by 50% for 15 sec. If Incinerate Flesh is not removed before it expires it will cause a Burning Inferno.
This debuff, i think, can be seen starting at 0:34... at about 0:39 the narrator of the video points his mouse at the IF target if you were having trouble picking em out. Basically... all healers in range need to bomb their highest HPS spells on the target before the debuff wears off resulting in...
Burning Inferno: The Burning Inferno caused by Incinerate Flesh not being removed inflicts 3120 to 3280 Fire damage every 1 sec for 5 sec to all friendly targets.
Happens if Incinerate Flesh is not properly "cleansed" through "power healing." Notice this say "all friendly targets." This should never occur if healers execute properly. You can see a fail of this starting at 1:28.

Legion Flame:
The Legion Flame inflicts 5363 to 5637 Fire damage every 1 sec, also you are creating a Legion Fire every 1 sec for 6 sec.
Legion flame looks like a green fireball, and can be seen casted in the video at 0:20 at a Resto Druid. From, 0:24 to 0:37, watch the Tree. As soon as he sees that he has the debuff, he runs to the wall and drops the legion fires there. All the ranged should be spaced out in a way where if they get hit with Legion Flame... they can just run back to the wall... and move either clock or counter clockwise. If melee get hit... they must be extra aware to get out quickly (seen at 0:55).

Infernal Eruption:
Lord Jaraxxus summons an Infernal Volcano which causes Infernals to spawn. Summons a Infernal and inflicts 9263 to 9737 Fire damage to targets in a 10 yard radius.
Can be 1st seen in the video at 2:00. Seems like 3 spawn. Have your OT Pull them away from raid members due to the AoE... have ranged nuke em down.. doesn't seem like they have much health.

Touch of Jaraxxus: The Touch of Jaraxxus inflicts 3900 to 4100 Shadow damage for 12 sec and causes nearby players to be effected by...
Curse of the Nether: Inflicts 4388 to 4612 Shadow damage every 1 sec for 15 sec.
Assuming this can be decursed. Another "stay spread out" mechanic. Don't know if this can be cast on melee. If so... have your decursers be quick on the ball.

Nether Portal: Lord Jaraxxus summons a Nether Portal. The Nether Portal summons the Mistress of Pain and causes...
Nether Power: The Power of the Nether increases magic damage dealt by 20% for 30sec.
It seems, from Edge's translation, that Nether Power must be offensively Dispelled/Purged/Spellstolen from perhaps both Jaraxxus and the Mistress. The important thing is the summoning of the...

[-Mistress of Pain-]
Mistress' Kiss: Next spell with a cast time interrupts that school for 8 sec and causes 8288 to 8712 Shadow damage.
Shivan Slash: A whirling attack that deals 75% weapon damage and pierces through armor.
Spinning Pain Spike: Leaps towards an enemy, grabbing them and inflicting significant Physical damage. Triggers...
Spinning Spike: Deals Physical damage equal to a percentage of the target's maximum health.
The Mistress 1st spawns at 1:00 on the video. OT picks up, range burns down. Don't put melee on it if you can avoid it as Shivan Slash seems to be used quite rapidly. You can see Spinning Pain Spike used at 1:39. I think this is something that must be healed through. I do not know if there is an aggro dump... but the OT should chase and taunt anyways.

Edge wrote:Listening to that german video and translating along:

When you see someone burning it takes some healing to make that burning go away (so I guess it's like that bleed from the Underbog boss?)

Those adds that spawn, you just off-tank them, DPS can stay on the Lord.

The lord every now and then has to be dispelled because he stacks a magic-buff to increase his spellpower and hes does this chainlightning like thing.

The infernals after some while turn into a rock and just jump somewhere and lay some fire on the ground, they also do some kind of warlock-like Hellfire. The trick is just to kill them quickly.

The adds are interchanging, after that female-demon the infernals come, next up will be the demon again.

He does a cast that is to be interrupted.

He also rambles about the achievemnt of having 2 demon girls alive when killing him and that the fight is rather easy.

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

My impressions of the video (will update after I do the fight tonight):

- Interrupt his main spells
- Someone gets a debuff that sets them on fire (probably similar to napalm on Mimiron) and they have to get healed and run away
- He spawns a big pain mistress add, needs to be offtanked and followed around (maybe taunted?), killed by ranged because she has a cleave
- He spawns a volcano that spawns infernals, these need to be OT'd and killed (This was done by the mistress of pain tank in the video; she should be dead by the time they spawn or they may only spawn after she's dead), they leave flame patches on the ground and need to be avoided

Pretty simple. Looks like pretty standard 2-3 tanks, 6 healers, 16-17 dps, though can swap things out as necessary. Mistresses of Pain spawn several times during the fight. Didn't look too hard overall.

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

My 10 man team just kiled him in 2 shots. It really is just that easy.

One tip on the infernal: when they turn into little balls and charge someone, they do an AOE burst for a few seconds once they get to the person they were charging. the person who got charged should move and you should wait until after they cast to taunt or it gets wasted b/c they are immune till they are done with their AOE bursts.

When the sucubis gets charges someone the person should let the healers. once she charges you she jumps into the air and slams down on the person. even if the person moves she will land on the player she charged. they must simply get a quick heal after they get jumped on.

other then that, interrupt, tank boss, side tank adds.

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

Another easy boss, easier than first imo.

A note if your on add duty the mistress either has a blink like ability or I was lagging and she would appear behind someone and come back. Also the infernals will randomly target ppl and charge them and do an aoe. You may be able to outrange this stuff and I could be completely wrong b/c I only saw 2 of each of them spawn so I couldnt tell you for 100% what they did.

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

Very easy indeed on regular,

we lost a few people because our groups weren't quite far enough, or someone moved a bit too much and chained. Those Chain fire lightning have a huge range, 15yard or so, as such, when you run the flame patches, be sure to run away from other groups!

Easily 1 shottable, just be aware of the adds and stay away from them.

Yeah, she jumps to someone in the raid and grabs em. She comes back when done with them; I found it to be a fun time to cast an exorcism.

We three-shot it on 25, with the healers pretty much healing through anything and everything.

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

My explanation in 10 man was something to the effect of:

Heal person with debuff, I will grab adds from volcano and portal, ranged kill adds

Then we pulled and 1 shotted it...

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

yeah this fight was fun. Very simple i'l explain my take on the encounter:
our comp was a bit undergeared OT who tanked the boss, and i tanked the adds. I recommend you get the tank with the quickest reactions to offtank, cause there are a lot of add pickups.

Jaraxx basically spams a Fire chain which is easily healable through, he also casts random aoe bolts on people. He has an ability that burns a random raid member and makes him drop fire where ever he walks, the raid member simply walks around where no one will stand and leaves until he stops leaving a trail of fire. (don't stand on that trail of fire ;) ). Next he does a debuff on someone that causes them to take less damage, but every heal he gets gets absorbed, at this time the healers need to heal him by ~70k on 10 man before the debuff expires or else he will do a massive aoe explosion. he will also summon a portal with a 4 armed chick that does aoe damage around her. all ranged needs to brin her down asap, she randomly charges a raid member and slams them to the ground, a quick heal will save the person. From what i could tell, she does not loose agro while doing this, but just in case i kept her taunted after she did the slam. the person who got slamed needs to run away asap because she still does that aoe immolation like damage. 3 ranged dps on her is more than enough to bring her down.

Jaraxx will then summon 3 infernals from very cool looking volcano. the infernals should be tanked, and they randomly turn into a ball and transport themselves on top of a raid member. when they land they will pulse with aoe damage for a few seconds before they start moving, i also noticed that threat does not reset on them, but keep your taunts ready just in case. melee gets a free pass on this pretty much and just tanks and spanks the boss while moving out of the fire. after the infernals go down another 4 armed lady is summoned and the cycle repeats.

on our kill shot, we actually had 4 healers, 3 ranged dps, 2 tanks and 1 melee dps. The trick is to kill the lady and infernals before the next portal or volcano arives, so you don't get overwelmed

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

One big thing on 25 is to make sure to purge/spellsteal him

He gets a buff with 10 stacks that increases magic damage. If he has the full stack he will wreck people with chain lightning. We run with 3 mages so they spellstole the stacks then nuked him for a bit. They enjoyed the +80% magic dmg but you have to be quick he puts the buff up a lot.

He doesnt do this in 10 man, just 25.

The only thing that really killed people for us was that infernal turns into a cannonball and then roots and AOEs. We lost a few people who didnt move fast enough.

Overall another fairly easy fight. He drops some pretty tasty tank loot.

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

I'm a little concerned about the Mistress' Kiss ability. How does this affect healers? If I'm healing on my paladin, I don't HAVE another school of magic I can cast and prevent lockout. I think Druids are in the same boat. Are healers eligible targets for the debuff? At least priests can cast something shadow and I think shamans can cast something non-nature.

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

Druids have arcane school from Starfire they can cast to get locked out.

Shammies have.... lava burst?

Healadins have imp.conc aura (30% reduction) as well as aura mastery which will presumably make you immune to the effects.

Aura mastery the first one, bubble the second one, refresh beacon, sacred shield, use hand of sacrifice on the tank and then holy shock yourself + instant FoL etc.

Or just wait for the debuff to expire. (or trigger it as with imp.conc will be shorter lockout than the debuff duration)

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

As kanst said, have your mages spellsteal the buff, it is more powerful than purging or dispelling it. Our mages were cranking out some great dps when they would get the buff. before, when a purge missed, our DK tank got hit for 42k, and splat. I picked him up and love my new Ardent defender! I had all the adds and the boss on me in our 25 man, and then Jarax was dead!

Here is our world of logs from the fight

http://worldoflogs.com/reports/pM9LJCwA ... =489&e=760

If you look at Trithela he had 62.5% uptime on the 20% spell dmg buff called Nether Power. Sensay had 59.1% uptime, so even though they occasionally had to spam spellsteal they still did really good dmg due to the buff.

Re: Lord Jaraxxus

I think I'll stick my warrior tank on Jarax, as they dispel their target every 6s (or more!) with Shield Slam. And tank the adds myself.
