Tuskguard is getting hard nerf in 2.4 for aoe tanking. BR is becoming Defense.

could we sticky this

This officially makes the Battlesworn Tuskguard a true upgrade from the Tankatronic Goggles.

It's basically a choice between hit and BV. With 3 SSoE the Tuskguard offers 1 less stam than goggles with 1 SSoE & 18 Stam Meta. The 51 BV is worth it. 66 BV if properly spec'd.

Thanks, looking great!

Hmm I dunno lately about this list. Are you talking about AOE tanking hyjal or just anything at all?

I think the Justicar chestguard should be marked as #3, not tied for #2. It offers no block value, unlike the crystalforge, which has a ton. At least, when I saw it, I said "huge upgrade."

Jungle Stompers should be added to the list. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33191 No spell damage, but very high BR and BV.

Not necessarily accurate: Armory

i think honestly both the unwavering and the crystalforged are tied for #1 for aoe tanking, simply since depending on what you enchant them with you can make unwavering come out with equal/greater stats across the board than crystal forged.

example:

Unwavering Legguards
Enchant: +35 SD/+20 STA
1406 Armor
+73 STA
Red: +9 Spell Damage
Yellow: +8 Defense
Blue: +12 Stamina
Socket Bonus: +6 Sta
+22 Defense
+30 Block Rating
+59 Block Value

versus,

Crystalforge Legguards
Enchant: +40 Stamina/+12 Agi
1459 Armor
+54 Sta
+27 INT
Yellow: +12 Stamina
+35 Defense
+25 Block Rating
+41 Spell Damage
+35 Block Value

with this set up of gems/enchants the unwavering legguards, in comparison to the crystalforge legguards are:

-53 armor
+ 5 STA
- 27 INT
- 5 Defense Rating
+5 Block Rating
+3 Spell Damage
+24 Block Value

now obviously under this set up the difference in stats is so minute with the exception of block value and INT, that your equally better off getting whichever you can first.

unless of course your goal is to add 35 SD/20 STA to Crystalforge, but i'd be reluctant to have pants that have less than 100 STA on them personally when your in a point in the game were you can try for either of these pants.

so, what helm is going to be the one with the BV meta for the block value gear set?

battleworn tuskgaurd would be an obvious choice...if it had a meta slot.

How about librams? Would you suggest I stay with Libram of Repentance or move to something else like the 47 consecration one?
