The Value of Gear Flexabliity

So after many many months of being chained into needing the repelling charge, ive finally gemmed/chanted for def so i can use a better selection of trinkets. I took it from the 18 stam on shield, 32 stam meta (will be the first to come back asap), and a few yellow gems were resocketed from Enduring to Thick to make the difference. I did this so i can have either 2x stam trinkets or 2x avoidance trinkets.

Im wondering, at my gear lvl, did i make the right choice? I lost a bit of stam but gained a lil avoidance. As soon as the damn stam trinekt from ToC drops i'll have a pretty awesome dual trinket stam setup, but what did i really gain?

Depends on how many gems you swapped out. Say you replaced three Enduring gems with Thick gems. (Let's assume they're all epic, here.)

If we assume you changed three Endurings to Thicks, that would cost you (15 x 3) = 45 Stamina.
If you replaced your meta gem, that's another 32.

Even the weakest Stamina trinket out there has in the neighborhood of 100+ Stamina at the very least. Assuming you didn't lose any big Stamina socket bonuses or anything (which you shouldn't if you only use your yellows in yellow sockets), then I think it's a perfectly fine trade-off if it lets you swap out the Repelling Charge in exchange for a good Stamina trinket.

For swapping in an avoidance trinket, that's a little more up for debate since it's not so easy to balance Stamina versus an avoidance stat and say which one will definitively be better.

I would try to get the Austere meta back in your helm ASAP because half of the value of that meta is from the +2% armor. For your shield enchant, the Defense shield enchant is almost always a better choice than the Stamina (IMO), so you can probably leave that as-is indefinitely.

Ya i was torn between the tier chest or the combo of conc gloves/belt. I think overall the two woulda been a better choice, but to save up another 58 badges woulda taken an act of god.
