Gear check for heroics

Hey all

Been reading all i can to find out some minimum stats for wotlk heroics. I think im about there but after being kicked from a group for Violet Hold tonight for not having good enough gear i felt the need to check with you guys.

Im sitting at:
20.6k hp unbuffed
20k armor
538 def

Got 20 resilience to help make up for the missing def until i find someone to enchant +12 def on bracers.

Btw got belt buckle with a 27 def gem in it.

It's 535 for heroics, so you're fine without the resilience :)

Your gear is fine for heroics. The group either knew jack shit about tanking, or had to compensate for a poor healer / slow dps.

Easy tricks to buff that health:

First off go hit up a BS for temper saronite belt, shoulders, chest, and daunting hands and gloves. You could also consider the tempered titansteel helm and boots.

Second you only need 535 defense for heroics, 540 is for raids.

Your chest enchant should be +22 defense, and your head should be +20 defense + 37 stamina.

Also scan the AH for the belt of the risen knight and crusader square paudrons.

Keep working on wyrmrest for new boots and chest.

Get new rings, there are many very good ones out, even from quests.

You meet the bare minimum for heroics but you could be much better.

One last note, never put a JC gem in your belt buckle slot. Use it to get socket bonuses.
