Especialize in block value and block rateing any good?

Would it be good to skip things that have dodge and parry and just go for block value and block?

While it'd be better for your TPS with more Holy Shield damage going out, Block, like everything else, suffers from Diminishing Returns, and you're require a massive amount of Block Rating to have it be a really powerful avoidance tool. Also, since a lot of bosses hit for considerably more than your block value would mitigate, your healer would probably thank you for leaning more towards Dodge and Parry. After all, 100% attack damage reduction is better than 30%.

But of course, I admit when I'm wrong (unless there's a wipe, then it's never my fault, of course)

Luckily I never got that T6 helm, otherwise I'd have a very sore hand right now.

block value is not subject to diminishing returns. 1 block value mitigates 1 point of damage whether you have 10 BV or 1000 BV.

If you get a decent amount of BV and are block capped (or close) you can MT Loatheb and finish 9th on damage taken - http://wowwebstats.com/bgneder5oh6fm?s=239731-285597&m (also finish 5th on healing). This is an exceptional case. The Lower the melee hit is the better blocking becomes.

Sure this fight isn't hard, but when comparing to other WWS reports with warriors tanking they take more damage.

When I see something like:

Loatheb hits you for 1 (XXXX Blocked)....I facepalm.

In any case, there are a LOT of BR/BV pieces out there. IIRC, there's one for every slot, except you only get 1 BV Trinket from H HV. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any rings. But it's possible to reach over 3k BV. Avoidance is a massive gamble. You may have 60% pure avoidance, and pretty much you're going to avoid a lot of attacks, but there might be one day where that RNG allows you to be hit every attack and not avoid a single one. This is very unlikely and would be extremely rare, but higher amounts of BV does help in this regard.

In a fight like PW where he hits very hard and very fast, as a MT, it's best to stack BV so as to guarantee that your dmg taken will be reduced. For somebody like Sapphiron or Malygos, it's best to stack avoidance as they're slow, harder hitting bosses.
