Need help

Not sure why I am having problems tanking. Any suggetions on gear, talents, chants or any advice would be very helpful. New to tanking as you can probably see by my gear. Also planned this toon to make money but have been thinking of dropping skinning to gain a crafting skill just not sure which one would be best suited for a pallytank. (Already have a maxed out JC.)

You look pretty good, gear-wise. You could definitely replace your Libram with the Venture Co. Libram from Grizzly Hills PVP and the Horn of Argent Fury seems like it would be nice, but it doesn't proc all that much and you would be better off getting a +stam or other stat trinket. Other than that, your gear and subsequently better itemization (i.e. not just +def, but dodge/parry/block) will come as you run more and more heroics. You are past the defense minimum, so go for it

Your spec has one glaring hole in it: 0/2 Imp Judgment. Take a point out of Benediction and place it in Imp Judgment for 1/2. This will allow you to achieve the 96969 rotation.

With your stats now, you should be able to start running some heroics - at least the easier ones.

You can run H Nexus and get a helm from the 2nd boss? (the mage that splits into 3 during the fight). You should also be able to do H VH and try for the legs from the last boss. H VH is very easy as long as you know all the bosses in there.

Save up the badges and get some gear from there ... I would suggest the neck first which is only 25 badges.

Get Wyrmrest revered for a chest upgrade ... I also think there is a chest reward from HoL or HoS reg that you can get in the meantime that is decent. Work on Argent Crusade as well for the head enchant.

Replace the Horn of Argent Fury trinket - there's a Def one from HoL and a block one from VH (both reg) that will be upgrades for you.

All in all, you look to be on the right track as far as gear goes.

As far as your spec, I would move one of your Ret pts into Improved Judgements so you can use the 96 rotation.

You'll get better and better at tanking the more practice you have ... If you know a good healer, try to pair up and get a bunch of runs going just to get used to tanking.

It's a rotation that most people tend to use because it keeps all abilities up at every cooldown - 969 rotation named for the seconds on cooldown for each ability.

6 sec: shield of the righteous, hammer of the righteous
9 sec: holy shield, judgement, consecration

It can be mana intensive. You may find certain fights need this rotation, while others do not.
