Getting Merciless Gladiator Gavel, what enchant to add?

Just looking for some feedback on which enchant other palis tanks would use.
I was looking to possibly put Mongoose on this since the spell dmg is so much higher than the Continuum Blade I am replacing but having 40 more spell power would be very nice for added agro.

What do you guys think? or feedback if you have tried either?

I have 40SD on mine and haven't looked back.

Get a seperate avoidance weapon for mongoose imo, post kara you will find you usually need every bit of spelldamage you can get your hands on.

This is a hard call as you seem to be farther along in the game into content I haven't seen. I would say that if you are continuing to help your guild farm Kara, go for the extra threat (+40 spell damage) to help push the runs through just that much faster, as your gear is certainly up to par 'tanking'-wise.

If you're getting significant action past Kara and into new content (for your guild) then you'll have to wait for someone else's opinion as I don't have any experience past Kara.

I went with +40 spell damage. We haven't moved beyond Karazhan yet, but at the same time, we do have some very capable warrior tanks as well. So I have specialized myself into the being the tank for encounters that require high amounts of threat.

40 spell dmg, hands down favorite.

Get Mongoose on it.

You're getting more then enough spell damage from elsewhere in your build. At this point in your tanking career mana shouldn't be an issue for you anymore, judge crusader for the extra threat.

I prefer to focus on being the best at what we are good at. This gives me a reason for existence. Otherwise were just a half-assed warrior.

Get +40 spell damage. You will not hold your raid back past Kara with only 200. I advise somewhere around 400 for T5 level content.

A quick hijack:
How long did it take you guys to get the Gavel?
What size team?

My time is pretty limited and I haven't done any PvP since I hit L61 but I'm definately interested in trying to pick that up because it looks like the best weapon until Hyjal (unless I'm missing something). Once I finish my ride skill money grind and my netherwing rep I'll have a lot more time to start PvPing again.

Arena only takes 10 games a week, so you don't need much time to do it. If you're staying prot spec I recommend finding other people who intend to lose on a weekly basis for a 3v3 (or 5v5 if you can manage it, but 3's are easier to wrangle).

Personally took me a few weeks in 2v2 to get mine, but that was with top 100 ranking and before they nerfed high rating points.

Don't wait, start right away. You can't really devote more time on it, than your 10 games per week, so it's limited to the number of weeks you played.

5v5 gives the most points. You can also be the most useful there with a prot spec. I personally went for a heal/sta mixed gear and cast some heals at the start, to clearly reveal I'm a healer. When I got the attention, I resort to instant spells as much as I can, so I can't get interrupted, which basically means I'm trying to cleanse every single dot the team's getting, while the other healer (you should have 2 healers in your 5v5, especially if you're prot) tosses around the actual heals.

It's not perfect, but your rating won't drop too low if you play your balls right.

I enchanted mine with +40 Spelldamage. Together with T4 Shoulders and +20 Spelldamage on my gloves that puts me on 311 Spelldamage. With Spirit buff, Adept's and Oil I'm around 400 spelldamage. I already have a hard time keeping aggro with that against the DPS in the raid (Progress: 5 bosses down in SSC (all but Vashj), and Void Reaver and Al'ar down in the Eye). When I'm on the first mob to be nuked, I switch to more Tier gear for 600-700ish spelldamage.
