i've had many friends run around and craft stormherald since the patch, but quite frankly, i don't understand it. i really think that the
blade of harbingers is better than
stormherald, albeit marginally.
with such a high mat cost AND the sacrifice of an entire profession... all for a 1.5% chance to proc a four second stun with a weapon that has less dps and less added attack power even WITH kings and divine strength combined. and remember, we don't get the warrior's mace stun talents, so 1.5% chance is all you will see for that oh-so-celebrated stun proc.
on the other hand, the axe is 7 more dps (but only 17 lower top-end-damage... 17.) and has almost 1% higher chance to crit... and has haste to boot. you're missing 61 stamina, but so what. are you tanking here, or are you killing shit? and the axe only costs 150 badges... easysauce for any paladin tank to get these days.
i've tried to point this out time and again, but everybody insists that stormherald is just more damage or more effective or something. i don't know. but none of them have any real information to back it up. just their "experience" in arena. but i know that a person notices and exaggerates an irritating stun more often than not.
someone please tell me what i'm not seeing here, because i'll make one, too, if it is truly better. ;-/
edit: wait, wait. i already see you starting to type "but the slower speed helps create a more reliable proc rate for seal of command" and to that i say: 0.3 seconds is again marginal, and also i'm horde and all the people i've talked to are horde as well. and we've got seal of blood. =P
