If you arent revered with KoT the easiest way to get revered is very simple.
First do the walk around quest so you can get in durnholde. Accept the durnholde quest, kill the last boss, run durn for about 3-4 more times, then do the BM quest and youll be revered.
I did durn with the quest and got just shy of honored, ran it a couple more times(about 1k rep per run w/o wipes), ran BM a few times but never finished until i got more gear to tank it good enough to live, turned in quest at the guy at the entrance of BM, got around 2.5k rep from that then turned in the quest he gives you for Andormuu's tear(ring) turn that in and you get 8k rep from that turn in.
No time at all to get KoT revered.
And for the glyph that you get its definitly worth it. adds 30 def(not sur on that) and 20 agility(its all rough figures cause i cant get any links right now)
IF you want a good set of shoulders that offer SD run Bot on reg or heroic and get the shoulders off Laj(spaulders of the righteous).
I just started kara and im OT right now, but if you wanna get a idea of what to do you can check my guy out. hes not set up completely for kara but hes gettin there. And dont pay attention to the gems in my epics, i was playin around to see what happens.
Right now i have 500 def, and with HS up i am 2% over uncrush with 11.2 or 3 k hp unbuffed. Once i put the stam gems in ill be set with around 12kish hp, and my glyph isnt on my helm cause i ran outta time.
And if i understand right you are wanting to MT kara. If you dont have any tanking experience or very little it would help alot to run the reg instances or heroics your choice, just so you can get the feel for tankin. and i love running bot for some reason. its rocks my socks. but lower kara is fun to OT since you spam your undead/demon spells all the time.
Not sure if this is all gibberish to you or just overkill(probably the later) but figured it might give you an idea on some things.
