teh macroz

So.

We keep talking about these thoeretical cast sequence macros we'd alternate to do the wrath threat rotation.
I want to compare their use to what i currently do (manual rotation) and see if I can derive any benefit from it and familiarize myself with the options.

I'm going into wrath with a new guild, <Vodka> of Mannoroth, and we're hard at work at the moment to be able to come right out of the gate and ride the edge for world firsts, ironically in pretty direct competition with <premo>.

Anyway, the guild mission right now is essentially "get on beta, go do heroics, l2p."

So I wanna see what I can make out of macroing some of my abilities.

I suck at macros though, except for simple stuff, so what exactly would the text of them be?

Well from what I understand, after 75 it's a 969696969 -etc. rotation, meaning you alternate a skill on 9s cd and 6s cd. So I can easily see 2 button spam fest.
9second cd

~9 Second CD's
/castsequence reset=9 Holy Shield, Judgement of Wisdom, Consecration

6 Sec CD's
/castsequence reset=6 Shield of Righteousness, Hammer of the Righteous

I might have missed a spell or two somewhere. You'd also have to manually weave in Avenger's Shield and seals. The following could help:

Cast Holy Frisbee - and then be ready to reseal vengeance
/castsequence reset=30 Avenger's Shield, Seal of Vengeance

Might also want to use Hammer of Wrath since it's instant. And then Exorcism / Holy Wrath.
Hammer of wrath / Taunt
/cast [modifier: alt] Hammer of Wrath; Righteous Defense

Exorcism / Wrath
/cast [modifier:alt] Exorcism; Holy Wrath

Now I used to have consecrate / holy shield on a macro, and then had a downranked - reversed order macro next to it. So I always had a rank 1 holy shield ready if I needed it 100% uptime. That said, you can move Holy Shield around based on the encounter or keep it on its own button.

Hope those are useful, and would certainly be interested in seeing any modifications / fixes - they might have typos, but should give you a good idea. Might need to switch the ; to a , in the modifer:alt macros, been a while since I messed with them.

Yeah, not sure what else to put in there. Been a while since I looked into the rotation threads, so I was just going off the top of my head what you might want. You could always skip the consecration and wait for the macro to reset, but then you're not spamming buttons frantically. Laughing

Could toss Avenger's Shield on that one to auto spam it every 30s - if that's a good idea or not, I'm not too sure.

Anyways, I'm sure those that have looked more into the rotations can tweak it further.

Why would you want to put the 9s in a different macros than the 6s? You want them interleaved so that the 6s are always used on cooldown.

It seems like you'd want:

/castsequence reset=9 Shield of Righteousness, Holy Shield, Hammer of the Righteous, Judgement of Wisdom

And then you can fill in your free cycle(s) with situational things. Everything else is either situational or long cooldown and outside the rotation. AS, HoW, consecrate, Exorcism, I guess you could twist but it seems open to frustration.

Because otherwise they conflict. You cast HotR and ShoR more than you cast either of the others. You'd get stuck in the castsequence whenever Judgement and Holy Shield are on CD and the castsequence is about to cast them next.

Ideally, you'd also end with Judgement of Wisdom. You would pre-cast Holy Shield and Consecration prior to the pull.

So I'd do:

/castsequence reset=9 Holy Shield, Consecration, Judgement of Wisdom

/castsequence reset=6 Hammer of the Righteous, Shield of Righteousness

this is something ret has been doing for a while with great success, so I'm sure it will work for us now that we have things to rotate on the cooldowns.

Getting it down to one or two buttons, and then having your other keybindings for the situational stuff or even clicking something is nice.

Just Editing the 9 sec, 6 sec macros a bit more, cause I personally like having a nice clean interface. (Note if you use the first icon (red ?) it will rotation what's next on your castsequence for the shown icon)

9 Second
#showtooltip
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/castsequence reset=9 Holy Shield, Consecration, Judgement of Wisdom
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

6 Second
#showtooltip
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/castsequence reset=6 Shield of Righteousness, Hammer of the Righteous
/console Sound_EnableSFX 1
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear()

Thanks to a hunter friend of mine for helping me to clean up my error messages when spamming a macro with his steadyshot macro!

edit: fixed a small capitalization glitch

I actually like this ide aof two macros that one alternates use of. Clever. That said, I will probably have lots of stand alone buttons and be a button mashing crazy man for a while until I figure out which I would use while soloing.
