Leveling Speed Question to the Betatesters

So, as the Addon will probably hit on 13.Nov in Europe i plan to take some holiday from work

Note to myself: Holy shit, i should visit addiction counsellor

Do you have information of how long it takes with questing and some instances to get to lvl 80?
A few guys from the guild are planing to do this so we can do some serverfirsts (quite slow server in aspekt of progression) and have fun in the new 10 or maybe even 25 Raidinstances.
Or is it just to early to know such things as blizz probably gave higher XP in beta to let people test the new skills and the new continents and don't wanted them to stuck in boring lvl-progress.

I tended to find that a normal instance run would net me in the region of 3-4 bubbles on my XP bar. I couldn't really get up any decent levelling momentum because the EU server has been a big pile of lag and bullshit since i joined the Beta a month ago.

thx for the infos, so i think with a 2 weeks holiday i will have enough time to play to 80 and go snowboarding a little bit

Leveling feels about as long as 60-70 did, but there are so many questlines and smooth transitions to different quest hubs that you're never really at a loss of what to do. This makes leveling feel a lot easier. Also instances go pretty fast and give good xp, especially when you're overgeared for the low 70s.

Here are the xp values needed for leveling in beta (don't know yet if they changed this patch):

(The values with k in them are approximations, I don't have current values there.)

Quests reward 20ish k per turn in to start and don't go up a whole lot, 25k or so at 77 is pretty common for example. It is difficult to tell exactly how long it takes to level because of the server stability but it looks like around 4-6 hours at the moment.

Incidentally, you definitely want to quest, instance xp is horrible (esp without rest state and that resets when the level cap raises and you get an xp bar back).

Anyways, I'm guessing 40-60 hours played...you can figure from there how long it will take you.

Did anyone try BM grinding when the level cap was first raised?

It might be viable, but you'd better quest in Northrend since it's
1) quicker
2) definitively more enjoyable than farming supplicants
3) gives quest rewards
4) gives goldz
5) gives rep

Is there a good aoe farming spot Like the supplicants in the new areas? Like a place i could drag a healer with and make massive amounts of EXP?
