1. The percent-wise difference between Warrior and Paladin mitigation is effectively 1%, because Blessing of Sanctuary reduces an additional 3%. Yes, I realize that one can cast Blessing of Sanctuary on the Warrior tank on a boss, but if you do this you have a dead-weight Prot Paladin in the raid that's not tanking, which is obviously much worse than just getting another DPS/healer and either having the Warrior tank without Sanctuary, or ditching the Warrior and having the Paladin tank with Sanctuary.

2. The percent reductions are applied multiplicatively. A Warrior with 65% damage reduction from armor takes 0.35 * 0.9 = 31.5% damage from the boss. A Paladin with 65% damage reduction from armor takes 0.35 * 0.94 * 0.97 = 31.9% damage from the boss. The difference is only 0.4%.

3. At level 80, the base HP difference between Warriors and Paladins has been shown to be ~1200. That means Paladins are equal to Warriors at 2000 STA and better at higher STA values, which are almost sure to be hit in Wrath.

i dont mind loosing abit of stam/avoidance to warriors for block etc it counts as mitigation and its nice (not as great as avoidance but it helps) yet bliz places us as this type of tank who rather block than avoid etc yet they give warriors amazing block talents what is with that ? Critical block would of been the perfect paladin talent. With diminishing returns i see a interest in block (ok not fully stacking). Yet i see every ones point all these 1-2% differences between warriors were do we make it up ?

Blizzard keeps saying they want to make tanks equal and that any of the 4 classes can be chosen for a MT without any 1 class being ahead of the others. I really dont see how they doing it.

1. Gota use spell wep (look at tps charts on these forums) to max our threat, yet using tank wep will loose us around 100+ tps ?

2. I think every single talent except 20% slower attack speed on judgements was a threat boost yet other 3 classes have received many mitigation talents.

3. Base physical/spell dmg reduction are lower than warriors.

sorry about yabbering on i just dont see were we make up for it all

By all rights prot pallies should carry a spare shield instead of a gun. That would solve all our problems (and cause QQ unlike that which the world has ever seen before), except that I'd be stuck with my stupid SSO shields.

Im pretty sure, but correct me if im wrong that the 3% damage reduc from BoSanc does not stack with the priests similar buff on heal

[quote="Xequecal"].[/i] Part of that merit may be your extra buff to the MT, but there's nothing wrong with that.

I'll tell you what else is wrong with that. You said it yourself. The Paladin is not the MT. If all you personally want to do is OT, that's fine, but that's not the goal for (I believe) the majority of us and it is not in keeping with the promise that has been made to us by the developers.

PS - we're also the worst class for the OT job when it comes to doing something useful when not tanking
