if you parse a wws you'll see vt restoring less than JoW. May not be as fast but it's still more overall mana and unless someone was wasting "mana time", JoW > vt

The problem is that you can reach all three of those points via having a holy paladin team divert a few points (41/12/, and then they just have to sink their healing time to refresh the judgements. If all you care about is damage, you can get it out of the healers.

... but then you probably have to bring an extra healer to the raid to compensate for having 3 part-time healers/part-time judgebots.

A good ret paladin will justify their spot based on personal DPS and to be honest that speaks far louder than having to use a calculator to work out contributions. It's easy for people to ignore raid buffs but placing high on the WWS is a lot harder to dismiss.

a) JoW may be > VT, but that's only for DPS classes. And a big chunk of that mana return on JoW is usually an enh shaman, who doesn't really need it. VT > JoW for healing groups that need more mana.

b) Since when did Ret DPS (in live) suddenly get heaps better than arms DPS, for raids? Their DPS alone should not be enough to get either a raid spot compared to a fury warrior/rogue/warlock. It's all about the utility.
