Understanding Gear in WotLK (Now with Spreadsheet!) and SW

You forgot the defense rating on Iron Gauntlets of the Maiden. They will then probably be better than Justicar Handguards.

Alright...someone help me out here, I'm having trouble seeing how Stoicism is better than Stoic Guardian.

Before it was well accepted that Stoic Guardian was a better deal thanks to better itemization for us and more gem slots. Now Stoic Guardian has lost 8 dodge rating and somehow managed to come ahead with more Strength than Stoicism.

However Stoicism has lost 17 defense rating. A much larger difference.

Are you all basing Stoicism being better because off it's Block Value? Which means you're thinking ahead to xpac release(since Shield of Righteousness is learned at lvl75). Or are you all saying that Stoicness will be better as soon as 3.0 hits live?

Considering level-up dungeons for 70-80 won't be balanced for people wearing purples, is it truly a huge issue? Surely the 80 blues will have us putting down these badge chests no matter which we choose?

Stoicism is better simply cause it'll still have more defense.

But Stoic guardian has 3 gem slots...with one epic defense gem in the red socket, you match the defense value of stoicism. Then using an epic stam gem for the blue socket and a defense/stam one for the yellow socket you get even more defense than stoicism and just about the same stamina since you'll get the gem stam bonus.
You will lose out on the BV and a bit of armor but it's good enough for me to keep and regem in the beginning as opposed to spending 100 badges on stoicism. Also as gems get better once the expansion is released so will stoic guardian and might even surpass stoicism.

Fantastic - so i farmed 75 badges for weeks and bought a chestplate of stoic as here and everywhere stated it was better. Now its rubbish.

Most of us casual players simply haven't the time to farm new badge gear pre-13/11.

Seems pointless raiding/heroics or doing anything but Gold farming from now until 13/11.

Still at least as latecomer to the game I can look forward to being 80 and having time to get full epic before they release next expansion.

But anyways, slicer or pummeler would be better than amani punisher?
