Closet tankadin?

So i got this problem, i been raiding as holy for 2-3 months now but as we got closer to morogrim i got asked if i could gather a prot set for the murlocs, so the next 2-3 weeks i gathered it up making me reach uncrushable and 13.7k hp unbuffed, last night i mt most of karazhan except for nightbane and i kinda liked it.. alot.

So i was fiddeling with the idea of maybe suggesting it to my guild but iam not sure wether or not they would like the idea.

This is where you guys come into play If you could help me find a way to presentate it in a nice and smart way for my guild.

Just talk to the guild leader and let him know you've been tanking on the side and you've really been enjoying it. Then let him know you would like to tank for the raid instead of heal.

The deeper question here is would you go back to holy and not tank if they wanted you to?

Btw how much unbuffed hp is needed to tank most of SSC and start of the eye?

Well if you are hitting 13k unbuffed, you are doing dam fine now. With raid buff's and what not, you should be near or over 16k. Thats more than enough to do what you want to do as long as your mitigation is fine.

Even when i suggested offtank on trash Whats the difference between offtank warriors and paladins?

I told him that tanking of trash/aoe paladins do far better than warriors, but well we are full on tanks now anyway =/

Switching roles is a bitch and can hurt your guild on the other hand if you don't like Holy you are kind of stuck.

I am not sure what to say, I was never Holy in my guild, so I never built up a reputation as a healer.

Switching from one role to another in your guild is a very difficult thing to do. If your guild doesn't have extra tanking spots, and doesn't have extra healers waiting to come in, yeah... you're pretty much stuck.

I would suggest waiting it out as a healer, it sounds like they're willing to at least let you build a tanking set to some degree. If and when a tanking spot opens (or you get to Hyjal), they might be more receptive. Timing is everything.

Well i would suggest that u poke every so often, however to be fair, if they are in no need of a tank for raiding they are not going to suddenly recruit one, the same applies to respecs. We have a rule stopping people respecing all over the place and requires a months notice (and a few other things) and if there is a space. There might be a space one day so keep poking and make sure you have a good set of gear ready, show that you are working hard to be the best in that field to. tank 5mans and heroics on non raids days and get them used to u.

Yeah i am, got almost every piece from karazhan that is usefull only missing the shield and the cloak from illhoof.
