So for me it's a choice between the mana gains, or the little bit of dodge and block.

Actually its not, the 3% from Disc priests stacks with Sanc.

The armour buff from shammies stoneskin stacks with devo aura.

Don't ask why, just be thankful :)

(Although, they really should fix these...)

Disc priest's 3% mitigation stacks with Divine Plea, NOT Sanctuary.

Are you sure? When I tested it a while ago the 3% from sanc stacked with disc priest's renewed hope as well as divine plea.

And Stoneskin 100% sure stacks with Devo aura, you can see by getting a shammie to drop his totem, then toggling your aura on and off and see your armour go and up down by 1800. Or keep your aura on and have him drop his totem and cancel it repeatedly.

I don't think either behaviour is intended, but it is currently how it is implemented.

Extend their duration to 30mins minor, 1hr major.
Change them so its one buff per person - no more need to worry about other pallies automatically getting sanc.
Change the symbols so they stack to 200 or 500.
Being forced to spend 15 seconds buffing people is annoying enough, you really sure you want to increase that to 37.5 seconds? (And yeah, yeah, I know back in the old days you practically had no time for anything but buffing and had to walk up a mountain every day to get to a raid, while it was snowing with wolves chasing you...)

Me, I'm more in favor of combining Might and Wisdom into one buff, if the one blessing per paladin limit is kept. That or scrap the one blessing per paladin limit. Either way, make a blessing cast affect the entire raid at once, and make a new version of Symbol of Kings for these new "Greatest" Blessings.

I'd also love to see Blessing of Sanctuary not changed to Sanctified Kings, but to Sanctified Blessings. Sanctified Blessings: Your blessings also reduce damage taken from all sources by 3%. In addition, when you block, parry, or dodge a melee attack you will gain 2% of maximum displayed mana.

Re: sanctuary in 3.2 -> Sanctified Kings

I'm kind of fine with the way blessings work and how long they last actually. I mean it's shorter than normal buffs of course, but they reagents are really cheap and it's not that bad having to rebuff a couple times more (was a lot worse when they were still 15 minutes, you'd buff, RL would explain tacs and you'd have to buff again...)
It's also better that it's class based since not all classes want the same buffs.

I'd just be glad if they reduced it to one blessing per spec, for a total of 3 (holy has wisdom/improved, ret has might/improved, prot has kings/"sanctified") Would make it all a lot easier, not to mention make sense.

Re: sanctuary in 3.2 -> Sanctified Kings

I have always thought that Holy Shield would be a good canidate for the abilities for BoS, if they were to roll them into another ability. Just make a talent for Improved Holy shield instead of the talent for BoS. It would still be only for Prot, so there wouldn't be cross spec or PvP issues, and it would be an on use effect instead of a buff which simplifies pally buffing by another little bit.

The only drawback I can see is that when there are 4+ paladins, you couldn't give the raid that 3% DR, which does come in handy during high raid damage fights like many in Ulduar and, presumably, in the upcoming tournament raid.

Good idea?

You would also lose our uber-mana regen when tanking large quantities of mobs since the uptime on holyshield is very low in those situations due to only having 8 charges.

Ah, good point.

Hmmmm...

Why does holy shield need charges anyway?

I image much for the same reason that reckoning needs charges, no reason at all.

So it is not completely overpowered in situations like I mentioned above. Imagine being able to GUARANTEE that you can block every add's attack when tanking 30 of them. You would be unstoppable.

and I believe reckoning still has charges so it can't be abused by 2H-wielding paladins, although it may currently be deep enough into prot to make it out of reach or ret.

Re: sanctuary in 3.2 -> Sanctified Kings

the charges on reckoning don't affect 2H weapons though, the only effect of the reckoning charge mechanic is to make it less valuable for weapon speeds faster than 2.0s

I was thinking of this in a slightly backwards fashion, but I suppose you are right.

To be fair, you could go into the stupendous 1.0 Protection tree and get a 15-minute Blessing of Salvation.

Hey now, 15m Salv was the best end-tier talent in the game when it was around :)
