2.3 - Point per point - Precision VS 1HWS

Has any1 done the numbers on what contributes more to our threat generation between:

1 Point in 1Handed Weapon Specialization Vs 1 Point in Precision?

or to be short

1% dmg vs 1%Hit ???

If im right it should be a 1:1 ratio (unless you factor in JoR/AS/Exorcism crits)

while factoring the reduced chance for our taunt to be resisted.

any thoughts on this????

Trying my best to keep reckning in 2.3 so im between these 2 builds:

Haven't done any math at all on this, but considering the extra damage from 1h spec will help your Consecration as well where Precision won't, I think it's better from a pure threat PoV. (Of course the hit increase for Righteous Defense can be nice where applicable)

Personally I'll be taking both over Reckoning though.

1st Not all of our threat mechanics depend on hit
2nd Take both!
3rd Any arguments speaking for Reckoning?

1HWS is more effective point for point in terms of average tps (Consecrate can only miss on the first tick of Cool

Precision could only be considered a better choice if you're having resists/misses screwing you over at key points.

I would say it depends on what you are looking for:

Better DPS/TPS -- 1H spec

More reliable judgements, AS, and taunts -- Precision.

While precision doesn't give you as much DPS/TPS as 1H spec, it does provide more reliability to help make up for it.

Precision is a lot better against bosses, where you'll miss more. Against normal folks, 1hws is better point-per-point.

Precision also does some things that 1hws doesn't do that are more useful in general:

+more hits of RD
+more likely to trigger procs ( so more triggers of SoL/SoW)

I think that if you're only basing it on raw threat, 1hws is better. But if you want overall utility you can't miss precision.

Precision is a much bigger threat buff on bosses, with +3% hit and +3% spell hit.

Outside of that, 1HWS is superior.

Spec for tanking bosses, or spec for tanking trash. Your call. =D

(If you're AOE farming, 5% dmg makes no real difference. And if you're in a group, isn't it their job to DPS?)
