I'm not sure how anything could ever beat 2% threat.

so what amount of spell damage does the +2% threat beat out the +20 spell damage??

I'm sitting at ~375 spell damage right now in my AoE/Threat set and I'm wondering if the extra 20 to my T4 gloves will net me more threat or if the +2% will. I don't really have the gold to go back and forth expirementing with both, so I was wondering if any1 has any insight as to this (in terms of amount of spell dmg rather than TPS).

If you're gonna count stamina scaling in talents, then the 10% armor from talents should also be counted.

Between 240 armor and 10stam, IMO the first suits better for long melee fight while has no effect against spell. The later is better for short fight. Note if u tanking multiple mobs, the effective fight duration needs to be multiplied.

240 armor further reduces melee damage from each hits by a percentage which depends on the armor you already have so it helps you sustain more damage as you getting hit more. 10 stam provides an initial 120~ buffer which doesn't scale with fight duration or number of mobs.

From healing point of view, if there is no issue in mana, higher stamina would be preferred as it gives more space for healer to respond to spike damage. But in terms of healing efficiency, mitigation increase induced stamina or the so called effective health works better.

For me I use 240 armor as I normally run heroics with aoe tanking 3-4mobs. I think that tiny bit of damage reduction from multiple mobs adds up more than what 120hp for most of the fights.

agi ftw

I'm not going to go through theorycraft or anything like that, but I am personally not a huge fan of 240 armor. 15 agi nets 30 armor (some people forget that) but also 0.66% dodge with kings. 240 armor may be significantly better for trash mobs, but I'm guessing that someone would have a high threat set for trash mobs anyway.

As far as a boss fight is concerned, I would rather completely avoid a 10k cleave from Mag than mitigate a small portion of it. Or I'd rather dodge one of Prince's "triple-hits" in phase 2 than reduce all of his hits by 10 damage. To be honest, I like to take a little more damage for the mana return. While armor is far superior for sustained damage, for large amounts of spike damage mitigation can't compare to avoidance. Then again, as you can tell I've only MT up through T4 content so I may be completely mistaken on how the enchants scale later on.
