I tried this last night and can confirm that it does not work. The Cache of the Legion is not clickable until both Gatewatcher minibosses are dead.

I did this just this morning and it worked....

Are you sure you had the cache key?

Yup. Had the blue shard from normal, and used it with the red shard from heroic. The cache didn't show up as a gear on mouseover until we went back and killed the first boss.

Yep! Never tried it the other way round.

Get red shard off miniboss on the right.

Head into heroic for the left hand miniboss and blue shard.

Loot cache, leave blue.

Kill the miniboss on the right get red key for next time, then kill first boss.

Oh, man I totally misread that. Still, I wonder why it works one way and not the other?

It's an exploit, pretty lame to use IMO, even though the gain isn't of particular magnitude.

This will no longer work after patch 2.4 unfortunately as blizzard have found away to fix it
