I'm just curious - do you think it's possible to solo tank lynx boss with ridiculous gear/healers? It seems far-fetched to me, but the kind of thing some people would be willing to try none the less.

Yes, it has been done.

Its only about 16-17k with good armor, and you can reach 23-24k hp.

I tanked him through 2 rotations once before eventually dying at the end. I think the biggest concern would be having the DPS to burn him down quickly before he can wreck you too hard.

Yes, it can be done, yes it can be done with 17003 health (well down to the thrash phase 3, I died then with him on 18% when I ate lashes and stuff too close together), I had an OT for it but for that fight I kept eating full lashes so it can be done without the OT (but its harder on the healers , think it was a hitbox thing as when the warrior tanked and I was standing on him we split much more evenly so think I messed up on the positioning for some of the pulls as I was partway into his circle outline). Its much easier with an OT though as it means that one bad set of attacks (pre-thrash) should not put you down, perhaps if not a proper OT you have a well armoured melee dps with you?

The phase 2 stages are easy, he doesn't hit hard, phase 1 your healers need to basically have a big heal land immediately after the lash hits you or you will be in pain and risk wiping, and phase 3 is probably a whole load of praying that the heal lands in the right time window, though you can bubble pop your way out of the danger zone if people are on the opposite side of the room.

If you are solo tanking this guy I would suggest nature resistance on everyone else in the party, since the majority of damage in the phase 2 / parts of phase 3 to them (distracting your healers) is nature, can be hunter / shaman but anything is better than nothing (our healers were running oom first try, 2nd we had no problems with the nature resist up a bit).

I think it really boils down to the healer's gear. It takes a long time to replenish 18k hps.
