Before curator, with a few leeches. Those guys pop mana shield, right?
But they do take the first hit on HP, right? A single gunshot is like 2% of it's hp, so I figured, can't they be 1-shot by something like an elemental shaman's prepared crit, or a pyroblast?

On tanking them: My damages only end up in absorb. Am I generating threat? And the dpsers?

Not anymore, they used to be able to be killed on the 1st hit or Shot/Feigned by a hunter into dropping their shield and then repulled before they reset. However both were hotfixed many many moons ago.

The only added threat after the initial pull is healing agro, eventually (until your raid's dps is high enough) the Anomaly will blink and retarget a healer at this point a taunt is a good idea... if you have any mana left lol, otherwise tell a feral or dps warrior to taunt it to them when they blink.
