hehe ^^ None of what I said relies on level, not more than 2 to 7 level gains anyway.

(Gear is not dependent on level, save for getting the required stats to use them)

So I decided to try this game out. Got to Firelink Shrine with little fuss, but now I can't get past the graveyard - I run out of pyromancy charges after the first four skeletons and my tanking skills are not good enough to kill them in melee. :(

Edit: Tried going the other way, fell off a cliff, then got killed on the way back to bloodstain. :(

Navigating the ledges is much preferred to trying to hoss the graveyard right away on your first playthrough :P General tip: if an area is owning your face harder than normal, you may be in the wrong place / have missed an upgrade ember.

Yeah, if you're trying to go through the graveyard, take this piece of advice.

There's nothing there that you can actively accomplish, until after you've beaten 1/2 the game =]

Try a different route!

Enjoy your Dark Souls Experience =D

Acquiring the Drake sword and a shield with 100% physical resistance helped a lot. I still can't parry my way out of a paper bag, but I can still progress regardless (at least, for now).

Killed the gargoyles and the big glowy butterfly yesterday. I wonder where I should head next.

Yeah, DrakeSword/100% Shield will hold you until you get to Sen's fortress. You should head to the depths or if you took master-key you can go through the Valley of the drakes and skip depths+most of blighttown.

In case you were confused about the story behind the game, I have a couple options for you:

1) You can rock-out to it with this bitchin' song - Tanooki Suit - Lordvessel

0r

2) You can watch this newly released summary (I am amazed at how good / accurate this is)

I would recommend both, for the lulz.

I took the tiny ring, because 'constant health regeneration' sounded like a pretty good deal.

Oh well. Just two-shotted Capra Demon, so I guess it's Depths time for me now.

I just saw that this morning, couldn't stop laughing.

This one is hilarious too, and It will mentally prepare you for what will happen after you ring both bells.

Depths done - the first and only zone I've managed to do without a single death.

Somehow I don't think that Blighttown will be quite as accomodating...

When I do my speed-runs (which are crap and nowhere NEAR the record, still fun for me though.) The only 3 places I'm likely to die are Blighttown. Sen's Fortress. and Ornstein/Smough.

About sums it up. However, it's really not that bad the second time through.

I'm pretty sure I've only "Done" Blighttown once. I always go around it lol

I think I have a new favorite playstyle. It involves walking up directly towards enemies in my Stone Armor and hitting them on the head with a Zweihander until they stop moving.

Edit: Queelag down. Now to retrace my steps back to the sunlight.
