Observations from the NFL Weekend:

There is no WR in the NFL better than Calvin Johnson. There are also no DB's in the league who can contain him week in, and week out.
Peyton Manning with two sprained ankles > Most other QB's in the league. Even at his age.
Jason Campbell looks like Troy Aikman when compared to Brandon Weeden.
Michael Irvin needs to go back to Dallas, smack Dez Bryant in the mouth, and tell him to shutup, and play.
The Patriots are a mess, despite what their record states.
The Raiders, could end up being a pleasant surprise.
The Chiefs, aren't that impressive for an 8-0 team, even though they should be.
The Steelers should start tanking for clowney, and OL
The Rams Defense is REALLY good. They suck, because their offense is possibly worse than Cleveland's.
The Buccaneers fans are coming to the sad realization that they suck too.
Does anyone doubt that the Vikings are drafting a QB in Rd1?
Brandon Meriweather better not blitz. I have a feeling some O Lineman might have a personal point to get across about his decision to say "I'm going to have to hit their knees, and end their career"
I'm really happy to see Thaddeus Lewis getting a chance to play. It's a shame it's because of injury, but you could see something in him at the end of the season last year. He could end up being a Starter somewhere.

Peyton getting a holding was hilarious.

It's time for another installment of one liners about the weekend!

Only the bengals could lose in OT like that.

The Dolphins are an 8-8 team if I've ever seen one.

Incognito isn't very incognito is he?

The Ravens... WTF guys... How can you lose to a team whose leading running back had TWENTY ONE CARRIES FOR THIRTY ONE YARDS.

The Texans are bad. Losing their coach made it that much worse.

Andrew Luck for MVP

The Chiefs are the most "boring" undefeated team ever.

Why aren't the talking heads going 'SUPER BOWL COWBOYS SUPER BOWL COWBOYS!' I mean.. They have a winning record, why haven't we been told how this is the time it sticks?

It's about time that Chris Johnson wakes up from hibernation

The Jets are a young, feisty team. A shame that sexy rexy is on the hot seat. This team is finally starting to show signs of being something other than a running butt fumble joke.

Hey! Look! Maybe Norv wasn't the reason the chargers can't close a game or a season.

The meteoric impact of the falcons hitting the turf in Atlanta is staggering. NO WAY I thought this was a 2-6 team.

Nick Foles is not Peyton, but he's not Vick either.

The lowly bucks lose again. Man... I think that Schiano should start packing.

You know how bad the steelers are? They let the Patriots score FIFTY FUCKING FIVE. A team with more rookies in skill positions than you would believe dropped 55 on the hapless steelers. It warms my shriveled heart.

Sooooo.... This trestman guy... He's a good coach ay? DA BEARS! (And GB's chances at a season just went to the hands of Seneca Wallace...)

I think the worst part has been all the NFL personnel blasting Martin for being weak, not being tough, telling on incognito, et al -- while remaining anonymous.

Can't wait for Chiefs vs. Broncos on Sunday Night Football! :)

Pats vs. Panthers on Monday Night Football should be good too, but the Chiefs game is gonna be talked up all week around here.

I saw that. It's pretty frekkin' cool, especially since it was a team thing, and not a league thing.

And now, on to another installment of my thoughts on the NFL weekend.

I told you Peyton was going to beat the Chiefs.
That was Pass INterference on Carolina. I don't care what the rules say. That was Bullshit. And I hate the Patriots.
This is the Browns team I thought we were going to see after the Trich Trade. It just took a little longer to show up than I thought.
A Muppet was the Browns Leader Rusher.
The Colts are a bizarre team.
But not as bizarre as the titans.
The Jets are showing that every week is an adventure with a RC QB.
And so are the Bills.
We learned that the NFL doesn't care about the weather. They'll wait it out, and so will their fans.
The Redskins are a mess, and Shanahan is fired at the end of the year.
The Eagles might end up winning the NFC E at 8-8.
The Lions don't like to win. They are allergic to it.
WTF happened to the bucs? 0-8 to a 2 game win streak? did schiano threaten to murder them? Oh, and how's that "we waive Bobby Rainey" working out Mr. Lombardi? You're an idiot.
The Cardinals have a winning record. definitely didn't see that coming
Did anyone watch the Raiders game? I mean... really? what a terrible game.
I told you, Norv Turner wasn't the problem in San Diego.
The Saints are going to meet the Ponies in the Super Bowl
Aaron Rodgers for MVP
The Seahawks are a a quiet 10-1. I didn't even realize they were 10-1 when I wrote that about the Saints.... Hm.... tough call.

Their o-line is coming back for the playoffs. Their defense has been great, and Wilson and Lynch have gotten some stuff done all on their own. If the returning starters can elevate their line play as they should, this is a championship calibre team.

edit: Oh, he's already got them back, plus Harvin. Minnesota isn't very good, but 41 points is.

Didnt the seahawks won their division once with a 7-9 record? and then the saints losing to them in the playoffs?

Because this happened:
http://youtu.be/xSZdntRnQVg

Russell Wilson has become a truly impressive QB and is certainly the brain of the team, but the heart and soul of the Seahawks is Marshawn Lynch. Ever since his stiff-arm against Atlanta, the team has been playing smash-mouth football with a bit of swagger.

I think we're peaking at the right time. Our OL is back, Harvin is back, and although Browner is hurt, we're very deep in the secondary. If we win at home vs the Saints in two weeks, the NFC is likely to be ours. I really don't rate Brees' chances against our secondary, in Seattle.

The PI non-call in the Panthers-Patriots game was correct - the receiver had no chance to catch the ball even if there wasn't contact. However, defensive holding should have been called.

I've watched a bit of Seahawks games lately, and one thing about Lynch that I at least haven't noticed anybody else talking about is his balance. It looks otherwordly to me. Sure, he's got power, and burst, and some speed as well, but the main thing is that he never goes down. And it's not because he runs through the tacklers all the time - to me it appears that he always has his legs below his centre of gravity no matter how defenders push him or grab him or whatever. A proper tackle gets him down, but nothing else will.

The Seahawks have, easily, the best team on paper, and have backed it up with their play. The only thing that could get in their way is their propensity to buy into their own hype and play undisciplined football, especially on defense.

Tribe signs David Murphy. Ok, we'll see if he can bounce back from last season.

Tigers trade Fielder to the Tigers. Gotta say, didn't see that one coming.

Boo for the Chiefs getting nailed on a last second TD pass from Rivers to some random guy.

Woo to the Patriots for getting 31 unanswered points, boo for letting the Broncos tie it and then another woo for winning in overtime! :) Everyone seemed to pick the Broncos to win and if you watched the first half and turned it off, you would have thought that too. 24-0 at halftime in favor of the Broncos made me sad. Go go half-time adjustments by the Pats and the Broncos secondary either getting sloppy, tired or, in the case of Cromartie, injured.

The Pats-Ponies game was bananas...

Also, who knew that the Jags and the Texans would have the same record.
