Not a frustration, just an annoyance.

Did Flex SoO tonight on my resto shaman.

Thok the asshat apparently thinks resto shamans are yummy.

First attempt, everyone else he fixates maybe twice at most. Me? Three times. In a row.

During that attempt, I accidentally killed a couple of people in my haste to get away from the raid group, didn't realize they were there. We wind up wiping.

Second attempt, everyone else he fixates on maybe twice. Not in a row. Me? Four times. One and two, in a row. Next Blood Frenzy? Three and four, in a row.

What. The. Fuck.

Well tell people in your group to not be 500 yards away.

You can easily game the fixates to whoever you want as long as you do it right.

Eh, I'll quit being annoyed by it soon enough, I imagine. At least I look cool when running away (ghost wolf!) while bitching at the monitor

How do you game it? Icy veins says the fixate is random. What do you do? (The guild I moved to early SoO fell apart before we got to Thok, which is my current frustration.)

The person who is currently being fixated not running too far away from him, and if they do get really far away while kiting, heading back towards thok near the end of his fixate (~20-30 yards is close enough), so that when he casts his next fixate, they are deemed "too close" to him, and thus he prefers to pick someone else within ~120 yards or something. If everyone else is too far away from him, he might still pick the person close to him (he also was fixed to pick people even if everyone is within the 20-30 as some guilds cheesed him early on by everyone stacking in his hitbox)

To "game" it, I'd reckon you have people you dont want targeted to stick close by him, leaving the person you want it to go to further out, and thus he typically prefers further targets than closer ones.

Bingo.

And yeah by "game" I meant you can almost completely control who gets fixated which helps a lot in heroic when that motherfucker starts speeding around the room after about 3 fixates. As soon as the first phase ends we have our hunter disengage out of the group and since he went from out of melee to behind the 2 ranged groups he is always the first one to be fixated and then we just try and have people with speed boosts take the rest.

if the game isnt fun with your current situation, why play it in your current situation?

like klaud said, play an alt on a different server, hell maybe even play a different game for your MMO fix

as for the pony avatars..i think it started just after the MLP thread got closed by invis, and reopened by Aubade?
pretty sure most of us just keep them to annoy invis :P

I posted an image of pony Avengers in the RPP... it was deleted by Invis which led to a brief discussion about why it was deleted... which led to an amendment to the AA rules... Aubade started the MLP thread... somewhere in there started the avatar "movement."

Meh, "movement" is a bit overblown. The publicity made use realise each other existed and it probably facilitated choosing a pony avatar. Nothing to write home about.

It was a movement (by some) to annoy Invis initially... the fact it drew others out of the woodwork afterwords is moot, as the comment was just about how it got started :).

It's definitely had a nice effect. I would never have chosen this as avatar nor found the actual pony thread if the other pony fans here weren't using similar avatars.

Those people are toxic and you need to wash your hands of them. You said a couple pages back that they will suffer if you leave, and the evil part of me says it's time for a little suffering.

Their convenience is not worth your mental health.
