The CTR guild had 20-30 people that were attempting to buy tickets in a mumble channel during the process. It was quite a fun listen as they freaked out with various levels of joy and despair.
While not getting a ticket this year, I am local to Blizz, so I hope there will be some meetups.

Looks like I'll be there from Wednesday until Sunday night. Plenty of time for meet-ups, especially if others are making a vacation of it.

We're arriving Wednesday afternoon and we fly out on Monday afternoon, so definitely around for meetups too.

So Blizzcon is just around the corner. Any tips, tricks, suggestions for a couple of first timers or recommendations on other things to do in the area or nearby? We are driving so we are gonna have our own transportation.

Disneyland is more or less right next door, if that's of interest there will probably be a kiosk somewhere in the convention center where you can buy tickets.

Any fixings of a meet this year? Maybe we can coalesce at a larger one, not sure who all is hosting this year.

I think Nika and Invis planned the one two years ago. But if I recall correctly, they're not going this time.

Re: Blizzcon 2013 - November 8 & 9, 2013
IIRC we met at a bar on the corner of Harbor Blvd and W Wilken Wy (Clancy's based on memory and Google Maps). That Thursday evening would likely be the best bet for a meet for balance between those making a long trip out of it and those doing extra parties during the con (I expect the extra/after parties to be done on Friday and Saturday).
I think this will be my last Blizzcon and I'll be quitting WOW within a couple of weeks after (baby on the way and I just haven't had the time to enjoy it for a while). I'd love to meet up again and possibly swap some Bnet IDs (still plan on playing Diablo, SC2 and Hearthstone (made the beta)). I'll be getting there on the 7th (should be early afternoon). It has been fun being a tankadin and I'll likely just keep lurking and tracking the game lore for fun.
Actually, I just had another idea. If there is a sufficient lull in the action during the con (based on the current schedule) and they have the WOW stations up again (just an area for people to play), would anybody be up for a Maintankadin raid? My plan is to throw in the towel after taking down Garrosh and I would love to do it with some of the people on here (provided there are enough willing to join and have Alliance characters).

Ghostcrawler: Right. If you are trying to AE tank and a bad dps is attacking the wrong target and dies, we call that justice.

I'm not going to Blizzcon, but ideally, I should be available for one of those, depending on the time.

Re: Blizzcon 2013 - November 8 & 9, 2013
I know I'll be at the WoWinsider party on Thursday night. Last time, I left that early to go to the MT party. I could do that again, but if there aren't many MT people going this year it might just be easier to plan to all meet up at the WoWI party (AFAIK, myself, Rhidach, Mel, Anafielle will all probably be there already).
I'll leave it up to the rest of the people going to decide though. There are lots of people I want to meet, so it'll be a busy weekend for me either way, and I don't want everyone else scheduling around me just because I spoke up. Pick what's most convenient for everyone else, and I'll make sure to make an appearance.

BTW would anyone say it is worth it to try to camp front row seats for any of the presentations rather then just takin it easy, wondering around and grabbin whatever seat you can find (or just standing)?

Based on the schedule, I'll likely be in hall D for the whole of Friday (but likely skip the contests). I'll be trying to get in line early and wouldn't mind working with a partner/group to get good seats and reserve for those that won't be there for all of them.
Also: schedule

FYI, it looks like you can schedule a time for the Meeting Stone:
http://us.battle.net/blizzcon/en/forum/ ... 49654862#2
That might be a good alternative if people decide it's easier than trying to do dinner somewhere.

I think we'll probably be going to the WoWInsider party as well, might be best just to bump into each other there. The bar we went to last time was a long walk from the NW end of the con, probably not the ideal place.

So, this is a thing:
http://us.battle.net/blizzcon/en/forum/ ... 0433103763
Thought was that this could also be an open maintankadin meet-up, since the WoWI party will probably be crowded and hard to identify folks.
http://us.battle.net/blizzcon/en/forum/ ... 0433103763
My Sacred Duty colleagues and I thought it would be a good idea to schedule a time at the Meeting Stone to meet, greet, and most importantly thank our readers/watchers. Since we have our hammers in a number of different projects (Final Boss TV, Sacred Duty, Maintankadin, WoW Insider) we decided to make it a general meet-up rather than just a "Maintankadin meet-up" or a "Sacred Duty" meet-up.
We're calling it Palapalooza because the five of us are the core group that are promising to be there:
Theck - Blogger at Sacred Duty, moderator at Maintankadin, theorycrafter, Tank in <Cadenza> Tichondrius-US
Anafielle - Co-host on Final Boss TV, blogger at Sacred Duty, Twitterista, Retribution in <Something Wicked> Whisperwind-US
Meloree - Blogger at Sacred Duty, retired tank from <Edge> Garona-US
Rhidach - Protection Paladin blogger at WoW Insider, blogger at Righteous Defense, tank in <Business Time> Moonrunner-US
Antigen/Lysogen - Retribution Paladin blogger at WoW Insider, Retribution in <Cadenza> Tichondrius-US
Just to make it completely clear, this is not a paladin-only meet-up. We'd love to meet all of our readers/fans, no matter what class you play. We want to say hi to all of you, and we want to thank you in person for all the clicks, views, and comments you've given us over the years.

Maybe I'll make the trek over the pond for next year's Blizzcon. The meetups and parties are usually open to all, not just to ticket holders, right?

Meetups in public places are open to all (if it's inside the venue, you won't get in without a ticket). As for the parties... the WoW Insider party was by invitation/confirmation only. We had to sneak in with bracelets from people who had already left the party.
