Re: WoW or D3 expansion? The Dark Below
At best it could be early-concept stuff, where the final product ends up significantly different.
Remember how much changed between what Blizzard said Cataclysm would be like and what launched? At Blizzcon the Maelstrom wasn't involved at all, Deathwing came up through a hole north of Stormwind, and that hole was where we'd have to fly to enter Deepholm. They also said Deathwing had gone down under Grim Batol after flying around the world making Deathwing's Scar, and that was where we'd face him, IIRC.
But really, I think this is all just guesswork based on the name and the likely storylines.

I just want more underwater zones.
For questing, that is. Maybe an underwater 5-man, but I think raiding in water would get frustrating fast.
But definitely more underwater questing zones! Loved it. Oh and more mushroom forests! Give me a mmmmmmassive cave that you access from under the sea, with a huge mushroom forest growing inside it!

It does look like as just random speculation.
However, it does make sense. Would like to discover that the expansion is along those lines (even if zones are completely different, the storyline proposed in that post sounds very plausible)

I saw a blue quote not a week back that talked about 5 level expansions as a given at this time (something about getting new abilities when you get 5 more levels in a new expansion - nb! not verbatim)
Well the datamined Hellscream weapons were for levels 90-100, with the caveat "don't take the level range as indication of anything."

Plus remember people have complained about 5 levels not really giving much content to enjoy as it ends up in being almost no leveling istances, making leveling by istancing extremely boring.

Leveling by instance is always boring.

I understand that level 100 is a big deal, and a nice round number, but would anyone REALLY care if every expansion was 10 levels and the game ended on level 120 or whatever? I know I sure wouldn't give damn in any direction.

People are weird and like specific numbers. Some people focus on "pssh, only 5 levels so obviously it is less content than if it had 10 levels." which ignores that Blizzard could make it so MoP leveled us from 86-125 if they wanted it to.

The pastbin will probably wind up being about 60% accurate. The idea of subraces is really interesting (and evil way of Blizz to get more $$$ from race changes).
But even if we get 60%, it sounds like it will be an interesting expac, if they designers deliver.

You'll probably get that free, but, if you want to change to an Iron Dwarf, or a Ice Troll, that will cost ya..

what sub-races do you think they would add?

Iron Dwarf and/or Earthen
Frost Dwarf
Wildhammer Dwarf
Dark Iron Dwarf
Mechagnome
Ice Troll
Sandfury and/or Zandalari Troll
Forest Troll unless they're too similar to Jungle Trolls
Brown orc (Mag'har)
Black orc (Dragonmaw)
Elf/dwarf/gnome Forsaken
Taunka
Yaungol
I don't think they'll add Iron Dwarfs, and I'm unsure of Zandalari trolls at this point. Maybe Zandalari could work if subraces are added after a big defeat of the Zandalari empire.
The big problems with a lot of these (Ice Trolls, Taunka, Yaoungol especially, but more as well) is that the normal starting zone makes zero sense. I can't quite see them making new starting zones for each subrace.

The sub-races concept is bad, and 99% not even something Blizzard would do. Not only would it be a horrific burden to introduce, and more controversial than updating race models, it would pretty much break the feel of the game unless they put Cataclysm-level work into revamping starting areas.

I could see it with a path of the titans type reward.
Say for instance you level a Dwarf to max level and you unlock the sub race option for the dwarves allowing you to one time change your current character or start a dwarf with that sub-race from the start. One issue is that they rarely make female models of sub-races so that'd be extra work on top of new existing racial models.

If they really did implement Path of the Titans like the posts says...(and I think it's a hoax)
Subraces could be unlocked, and they start in the capital at level 10, newly arrived immigrants. Then you'd only need one NPC per subrace that quickly explains your abilities and your backstory. Doesn't get around the problem of female models.
Variant orcs, dwarfs and trolls are mostly down to coloring anyway.

I just want to play a Murloc.

Murlocs are a primordial race, don't have any technology or anything, doubt that'd be ever viable
However in Pandaria we learned that Jinyus evolved from Murlocs so... maybe play a Jinyu?

I want to play a Hozen and the racial will have to be "Poo Fling - hurl your feces at the enemy, causing them to flee and lower their opinion of you significantly".

Still want Furbolg and either the original Dragonmen, or Sauroks since they use the same model and more work has been put into them already.

Sauroks arent really "civilized", they wouldn't fit anywhere in the playable races

Orcs have a quite complex social system and good technology / knowledge of magic actually
Just looks very primal

Almost certainly fake but whoever fabricated it obviously loves the game. I would love an expansion like that.
