Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD

Postby Nikachelle » Wed Jul 10, 2013 7:37 am

I could've sworn we had a dedicated FF thread, but it seems to be broken down by each number. ANYWAYS.

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/07/09/f ... -announced

There's splitscreen footage in the article about new versus old. A lot of it looks like recolouring to me, but I don't care. I'm all over this limited edition stuff and can't wait till I can preorder it.

Is it just me, or are the high-res faces less expressive?

They seemed smoothed out to me. Didn't really notice a ton of expression... but then again I only saw Tidus' face up close in that clip.

There was some close up Yuna, too. Around the eyes seemed slightly more flat and emotionless on her and on Tidus.

I don't remember the non-prerendered faces in the original FFX being all that expressive to begin with...

They're not, but I thought there was still a noticable difference in the trailer there. Not keen on the way they brightened up the scene, either.

What other versions were there aside from international copies (which I didn't even think were available in North America)?

I've just got my original PS2 copies. I've been really itching to play them all through since they announced this release but figured I should wait till I have the new versions.

Sigh I really wish I had a PS-2, always loved FFX and X-2 when I played them on emulators / other people's ps2 >.<

Not sure what your financial situation is, but they're only like $40 on Ebay. Well, the console that is. Not sure on the games.

Edit: Okay the games are decently cheap. Range from $5 to $15.

Really? Why else would you buy a console?

The thing about consoles is that, while you should buy them FOR that one game you really want, they further justify themselves over time by having more and more stuff.

I got my PS2 just to play FFXII (had previously used my brother's during the summers when I wasn't at uni). Seemed worth it to me. And of course, like Sab's said... I've got tons more games on it now so it's been "more worth it" over time.

AMGGGGGGGGG

"SiliconEra did some translating from a recent issue of Shounen Jump, which revealed that Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD will have a brand new ending cinematic that will be around 30 minutes in length. Considering the quality of Square Enix animations, this pleases me…greatly."

From this article: http://www.lazygamer.net/general-news/f ... a-content/

Looking like a mid-October 2013 release.

That's a very vague statement, given that there are two separate games in question here. 30 minute cinematic for which one? For the two together? Or is that duration combined?

It's not actually that lengthy for them really. Every time I start a fresh Final Fantasy game I make dinner before because I know the whole opening introduction scene will be enough time to leisurely consume my food.

And not sure Kysen... even if it's split up between the two, it's more than I expected.

I'm starting to get quite tempted by this, even though I haven't managed to get more than halfway through a Final Fantasy game for years.

Not FFX, but FF related. These just arrived.

Now I need to figure out a display case.

He actually has all the main characters. They're a bit pricy at $18 each, but I'm having a hard time not ordering the rest of them, just because ...

Edit: oh, why not.
