FTA: Just because the Supreme Court rules on something doesn't necessarily mean that that's constitutional.

http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/S ... ries_Again
FTA: A proposed bill, on special order in the state Senate, would allow the state attorney general to take businesses, including health insurers, to court if he "has reasonable cause to believe" they are harming people by implementing the law. The bill already has passed the House. If it passes, the bill could push South Carolina to the forefront of Obamacare resistance, giving the state's Republican leaders a national stage. It also could push South Carolina into yet another costly legal battle in the federal courts that, critics say, is unnecessary and avoidable.

FTA:“I’m going to be real honest with you, the Republican Party doesn’t want black people to vote if they’re going to vote 9-to-1 for Democrats,” Ken Emanuelson said.

Just checking, I'm not the only one here that is appalled by the spying that was done by the NSA, am I? By my view, this is an egregious breach of the 4th amendment. I'm sure a good attorney can explain to me why this isn't a complete breach of the 4th amendment but I haven't heard that good attorney come forward yet.

Same.

Far as I'm aware, I haven't done anything to flag any "key words" or anything...yet. How long until I do?

Of course, I live in Arizona, where it is also apparently easy to be arrested with a BAC of 0.00.

Appalled and apathic at the same time here.

Should it surprise me that it doesn't surprise me?

Edit: I have been living by the idea that anything I post online and anyy mails going out excepting those that only go through my domain host (from one domain on the host to another), any redflag word I use will pop up. Since I discuss a lot of politics, and enjoy discussing hypotheticals, I'm of the persuasion that I should probably refrain from visiting teh states again (though I did enjoy it the times I was there - I have a feeling that my "lifetime visa" in my now expired passport isn't valid anymore)

Quite trollish article, but there's some truth behind it.

I think the worst part about the whole snooping thing is that some lawmakers think it should go even further

Vague laws and sheer legislative volume pretty much guarantees everyone is guilty of something under some interpretation of something, somewhere. Having a massive database just makes it trivial to apply pressure.

"Hey you might want to stop blogging about X, unless you feel like being prosecuted for Y."

“The idea of — quote — small government is in direct conflict with big government Republicans sticking their nose my vagina,” one voter named Suzanne wrote. “How can we get the conservatives — mostly men — to quit blaming women, many times girls, solely for unwanted pregnancies?”

Political amusement rather than a commentary
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/06/12/f ... your-back/

“Kilmeade and Friends” featured the leader of the English Defence League (EDL) on Monday, a protest group known to march through the streets attacking non-white people and making Nazi salutes. After about 15 minutes of interviewing 30-year-old EDL leader leader Tommy Robinson about his anti-Islamic views, Kilmeade exclaimed: “Well Tommy, we’ve got your back and we’ll definitely look to keep in touch. I really think it’s a very — it’s great, what you’re doing.”
