Didn't realise cover prices would be that high, but I ent and looked at ADwD and the cover price there is £25. Higher than usual - most hardbacks are more like £15-18.

Oh, yeah, it's annoying as hell. I think that's kinda deliberate, though.

Is Sam a wizard?

"Is"? He be more the first part of the long form of Billy.

There are two characters whose death might cause me to stop reading. Particularly if they were to both go. Arya is definitely one of them.

I fucking hated the shit out of Sansa for a long time. I now just dislike her.

The producers supposedly know How It All Ends, and if they catch up to the end before the books are done, they won't wait for him to finish. Don't recall where I heard that.

They're pretty much guaranteed to overtake the books. If they put books 4 and 5 into one season they might even catch up before the next book comes out.

Was in the DVD specials for season 1 IIRC.

They're aiming for 7 seasons, so they'll air the final ep in 2017. I'm thinking that the remainder of book 3 combined with book 4 and 5 will be used to make the next two seasons - some storylines have very little left for the next season (Arya, Jaime), while others have a lot. They'll bring forward some storylines and delay others.

Book 6 (Winds of Winter) will probably be published just ahead of the show, but the final book probably won't make it.

Yeah, I'll probably wind up avoiding the last season of the show until the books are done.
