Wouldn't it be awesome if you could take your freshly leveled alt into a run as a test of skill, and as a reward for demonstrating that skill, you got a shot at some middle tier (with regard to iLvl) loot tables?

Was a response to "we don't care about the items, we only want the challenge".

greatest bluff calling ever, btw :P

Haha, fickle playerbase is fickle.

You never will be able to please millions all at the same time I suppose.

Challenge modes are not the big thing they expected it to be, and heroic raiders proved it is not just about the title but also the gear.

Except that's false. Blizzard even stated that more people were doing CMs than they expected and they weren't even designed to be something for everyone to begin with.

It's not huge because most people give up when they realize it actually requires effort and can't be facerolled like heroics.

I hadn't heard that bit about CMs exceeding expectations. Still a good bluff-calling though.

Well, and let's be fair: this whole 'heroic' thing in 5-mans really is just a single word to mean 'level 90 only' now (explicitly stated by the devs back before release), as opposed to the old normal/heroic dungeons where stuff actually changed.

That there's already significant enough reward that people are willing to pay for it. In fact i'd argue the transmog sets have more longevity and worth than gear would, since at 463 ilvl what gear would the x-mode actually reward?

I wouldn't consider myself part of a general populous that would pay 200k for xmog gear, a mount and some achievements. I've spent ridiculous amounts of gold on the dumbest things but yeah it's really no different than people who buy raid titles and stuff I suppose.

well, and presumably, unlike a raid that's been overgeared and on farm for months, I'd imagine you have to be able to carry a fair amount of the weight.

IF you're a class with a decent looking Challenge mode set. Hunter set is fugly (then again, every hunter set for the past 2+ years has been fugly except for a few conquest sets that I likely won't get).

I wouldn't say that's wholly true. The gear xmog is what got me to run CMs in the first place, although the idea of grabbing Realm 1st times on everything is also pretty fun ... but I just don't have the time.

Raid + LFR/Valor capping on 2 toons = all the time I'm really willing to spend in WoW unless my fiancee wants to level alts together or go kill world bosses.

I like that I can log on and have SOMETHING to do to, because of the plethora of options, which is what they should be going for. The dailies (especially gated dailies) were the only thing that turned me off.

MTankadin officially blocked at work when they deployed the new firewall today. No, I will not try tunneling through some proxy, nor try other tricks like that, I like being employed.

Looks like my iPad will get more use at work.

use opera mobile on your ipad, since it renders all the websites on their side, it doesnt matter if a website is blocked or not, unless they block all of opera

It's my own iPad, with my own data plan, so they have no control over that. (Connecting it to the company wifi would involve putting some of their software on it, and I have no interest in them having access to my iPad... :-)

just throwing that out there as an option. maybe someone else will find that tip useful =P

I use that in my own ipad at work, to circumvent the firewall, of course... the firewall itself is based on which department you work for, so as an IT guy, I got a pretty open internet 'cept for truly obvious websites like x-rated stuff.

Heroic Siege last night. On my druid healer, my roommate is the paladin tank, and a guildmate is on his mage.

The TG warrior was sporting some amazing tanking and agility gear. The hunter was my favorite, though, with not turning off Growl until the tank told him to, and using a ghost iron dragonling...cogwheel-less.

That was the most painful run I've had in a long while. I let them both die on the second boss because they didn't understand the concept of Don't Stand In Health Draining Shit.

UGH.

turtle beach headsets are nice, but fragile
much more comfortable than the cheap $20 ones i was using, but much less durable..
all of my cheap ones lasted me at least 9 months before they had to be replaced
not even 5 months in and these more expensive ones are falling apart...and these are the second ones i have had in that time frame (first pair broke a month in so got exchanged, but they got jerked off my head by simultaneous reaction to dropping hot cider in my lap and one of our dogs getting tangled in the low hanging cord)
