There is a rumor floating around that the Browns are looking to trade into the second round. No speculation on who they are after, but they are offering:

3rd, 4th, and Atabya Rubin (SP?) Would be sad to see him go, and that feels a little cheap, but conventional wisdom would point to them going after a QB, or possibly a CB. I hope it's a CB, since I'm pretty sure that Smith will be off the board by whatever pick they are getting.

Jeffrey Loria would sell Babe Ruth to the Yankees if he had been the Sawx owners back in those days.

The Browns are executing a new strategy. Don't draft anyone unless you absolutely can't trade the pick for next year.

Apparently the Patriots have a new strategy of their own: Draft from Rutgers. Yeesh.

Standard Belichick stuff though, lots of "who the hell is that?" draft picks in positions of need.

Kansas City didn't seem to draft with any coherent strategy, but I somehow have more faith in Dorsey and Reid's picks than I ever did about the previous regime's.

Really strange to watch the Seahawks draft this year. I can't recall ever before going into a draft without any significant needs and the ability to take whatever player we wanted.

I like several of the guys we got, but I wonder how many are going to make the team. We just don't have that many open roster spots. Some will make the practice squad, but some guys are just going to be drafted and cut.

I guess that's why we were willing to take shots on some higher-risk players. If they work, they come with high reward, but if they don't, it's not like we had a roster spot for them anyway.

Thank God. I hope he gets a shot again, but with someone that will give him an actual chance. Look for him to sign a very incentive-laden contract.

If not, ESPN can always hire him and partner him with Ray Lewis, and do a sunday morning special called The Sinner and The Saint, maybe even solve crime together as well.

Some comments on Jason Collins coming out as gay:
- That makes him the third gay wizard, right behind gandalf and dumbledoore.
- I can't imagine the shame his family and loved ones are feeling; to have somebody so close to you humiliate you by openly admitting you're...a Washington Wizard.

Of course, the fact that he was cut after the draft means that he's got a lot harder chance of finding a gig, but the Jets would have tipped their hand in the draft, so...

I thought the comments were pretty funny.

Also, didnt they find this nfl player being really cuddly with this other guy in the bahamas?

Nttawwt

I know a bunch of peeps mistake me for gay/bi because i am very pro lgbt...

Even at work, when they crack some gay jokes, sometimes they imply im gay, so i just turned it up in them and say... Well, you didnt complain about me putting it up your ass last night, and things like that.

Not really. He's a bad basketball player with little to no time left in the league.

You underestimate the spin machine. Look for howls of protest if he doesn't get resigned. It's actually the ultimate get-another-two-year-deal card.

Only from idiots who don't understand how sports works. Which is also a reason why Tebow will never get a starting job, he's not a good quarterback.

Perhaps, but he still has as many playoff wins as Tony Romo, which is something I love to use to egg on cowboys fans. =P

The one thing I don't get about Tebow is that he was never that good of a QB. Sure, he did some good things with Uni of Florida, but when he passed the draft up and played another year, he really screwed himself. Now he's cut hoping some team picks him as a QB. I've always felt he should have gone as a half back or a tight end. Heck, he turned down options to try out at tight end.

I just don't see him getting any thing further out of his football career he has envisioned for himself.

And he expected to be the #1?

No. Not said anywhere in the article that he expected to be the #1 pick. The closest was [quote]It is understandable for Smith to be disappointed about not being a first-round pick, but unless he was specifically being told by his agents that he would go No. 1, we're not sure how they are at fault for his tumble out of Round 1./quote]

ESPN did a 30 for 30 about Agents and it is not uncommon for players to fire agents for a better deal/better promises. We don't know what went on behind the scenes and what Geno was told by his Agent.
