Well, I have to say, I'm glad for Colt, but the trade.... Well.... It really doesn't make much sense.

We trade McCoy, and a 6th, and get a 5th and a 7th back?

What kind of "upgrade" was that in picks? Why didn't we just dump him?

I just don't see the value in the trade. We got rid of a backup QB, and a 6th rounder, to pick up 2 draft picks, one better than the one we had, and one worse than the one we had.

Oh well, At least Colt and Phil have chances at rings next year.

EDIT:
I would have rather traded Colt + 3rd to get a 2nd. (The reported offer AZ had on the table at the beginning of FA)

Nevermind, it seems he'll be ok. Then again... Chris Carpenter seemed he was gonna be ok, and never came back to form...

Also, Robinson Cano fires Scott Boras.

I'm saying May 9th.

And... Watching the Astros last night, they didn't look that bad. Played together as a team, and had timely hitting. I'm rooting for them to do well. I would love to see them kick the Yankees teeth down there throat, and then for Bo Porter to walk over to Giardi, and say "How's Arod?"

Well, that was fast... sorta... feel bad for Yu losing his perfect game on the last out.

Sad it took the video to be leaked for Rice to be fired.

Also, wow, Colin Cowhead is right for once, Hypocritical of Rutgers as they were all about getting Don Imus fired for using slurs about their players, but cover up for the coach that did the same.

Have not seen the video of the Rutgers coach, but heard it's pretty frekkin' awful.
I think Johan is done. He's 34. I can't imagine that he's going to be bouncing back from this quickly.
I was rooting for Yu. I just want a Japanese pitcher to prove that he can come to the US and have sustained success. On a related note I have a friend who pitched for several seasons in Japan (not sure if he's pitching again this year. He said he's made enough money that as long as he continues to not be dumb with it, he'll never work again), and he says that over there, the culture of baseball is so different than here. Also, the organization takes great care of it's players. His first season, they put him in a condo with another player, who helped him get acclimated to the league, and Japan in general.

If he was an NBA coach he'd have been choked out.

Tribe has won 2 in Toronto.
  • Reynolds, is proving it's feast or famine. He's 1 for 8, with 1 hr, 1 RBI, and 3 K's. But that HR won the game. His Hr is said to have traveled 473 feet. WOW
  • Drew Stubbs, another "Why did we get this guy?" has shown that his defense will make up for inconsistent hitting. In 2 games, he's looked really good.
  • Michael Brantley is fast becoming a fan favorite around here. I don't know if people outside of the Tribe fans talk about him, but we believe he's going to be something special
  • Allballsdo NoStrikemez looked pretty good in his first start. I'm not willing to say that bringing him back was the right move yet, but at least he wasn't as awful as he was at the end of last season.
  • Carlos Santana has looked good. I don't know what happened this Off Season, but in the WBC, Spring, and now 2 games in, he looks like a lot less of a liability at the plate.

I seriously, haven't been this hopeful about an indians team this early in the year in a long time. With the Younger Dolan running the team, and Shapiro seemingly relegated to the STFU and smile role, the team has made a drastic turnaround since Shapiro's comments over the winter.

Like I said earlier, completely hypocritical of Rutgers to ask for Don Imus firing for using slurs, but being perfectly ok with Rice who not only used slurs, but pretty much physically assaulted his players as well.

They should fire the AD for in-action imo.

Except it wasn't pure inaction. He was suspended and fined. Valid arguments are plenty that it wasn't enough based on the tapes.

Specially considering that the video is just a snippet of what is reported to be at least a hundred hours of footage

Also you have to factor in that Murdock didn't go public or possibly to the AD until after his contract wasn't renewed so he might not have shown the AD much more than some of less bad stuff. It falls into the "what did he know and when did he know it."

Apparently, he saw the AD about this during summer, but it is unsure when was he told he was letting go for "insubordination".

The December thing however feels more like "Taking you down with me", bringing the tape to the AD in an attempt to get Rice fired, when that didn't happen he went public with the tap.

Heh, welcome to the Mark Reynolds Experience.

Did Trevor Bauer get on with the big club or down in the minors? I'll be interested to see how he does - still not sure why the DBacks traded (gave) him away.

DBacks 2 of 3, including a 16-inning win last night/this morning. Plus, we already have one of the most amusing and/or pathetic video clips so far this year.

Bauer was sent to AAA, but Kazmir has a pulled Abdominal muscle, and hit the 15 day DL, so Bauer is going to get a couple of starts early on. After watching the slugfest last night, He might end up in the rotation anyway. Myers didn't look good at all. He left so many pitches hanging. I can't imagine he'll have a very long leash if he keeps doing that.

The Rutgers fallout continues. Martelli, an assistant coach resigned as he was also involved in the abuse, and Pernetti, the AD, also "resigned" (Rutgers say he resigned, but others say they forced his hand)

Woot, the Royals manage to come back from being down 4-0 to winning 13-4 against the Phillies today! Now to get above .500 and stay that way, so that they're on a win streak when I go to my birthday game against the Indians on April 28th.

When Tribe faces bad pitchers = They suck.
When Tribe faces Cy Young Winners = 2-0.

That's right. Against the field, they are 1-3, but against the reigning Cy Young Award Winners? They are 2-0

John Lackey is hurt, almost glad that's the case as I hate his guts.

I still have no idea why Epstein got him. He was a terrible pitcher against the AL East and even worse at Fenway Stadium when he was with the Angels.
