Was selected chairman of the Social issues- and housing committee for national policy development for my party today, the party being a government party, this is teh closest I can get to the power without being appointed as minister (we are the people that form policy for the members of the parliament for the party, unde rthe national leadership of course, but they don't get hands on).

Second succes, my suggested area for major reform had backup from the rest of the committee members, so long term, this may actually change something for the better for socially exposed children and their parents.

Also a succes, the committee members all seemed to "work" together, no glaring rifts that will be a problem down the road.

Today the committee, tomorrow the world!! grats!

And back to the real world... not my success, but this seems like a significant step forward in curing HIV.

Except they don't tell you that children born of infected mothers will test positive up to ~18-24 months old, as teh antibodies are transmitted during pregnancy (but the virus is not) - children that are "born" infected are in reality infected during their birth through the mothers blood/mucuous membranes which it is exposed to regardless of whether it is a c-section or a vaginal birth.

While, from what I can read, there is a potential to find something, they cannot truly say whether it worked, or whether this baby just carried its mothers antibodies and never would have been infected past 18~24 months. (Sadly its a reflection on the media more than anything, sensationalising almost anything because they feel compelled to offer new news all the time these days)
