Re: The My Little Pony thread.
I finally got my first comic issue
I'm not happy.
Why?
It's issue #2.
The import company screwed up and my comic store never got my #1 box set.
In turn,no one in the shop bothered telling me.
So now i have to struggle to find a way to get #1,and it's almost sure that i wont get my Applejack cover.....

Re: The My Little Pony thread.
Decent. I would've preferred they'd stopped the episode when she finished the spell. Talk about a F*CKING cliffhang that'd be!
Just curious to see where we'll be next season - The last thing I'd actually want they'd do is to treat it like nothing happened. There's so much to explain and understand >_>

I can understand. Still, I liked it a bit. Not a lot. A bit.
Bonus points may be given depending on the season 4

Re: The My Little Pony thread.
Re-watching the episode, I know why the Princessy thing didn't annoy me much: in a recent Mage: the Awakening supplement, they developped how a mage could become an arch-mage, who had always been legendary omnipotent figures in the setting. There were rumors and theories, but that was it.
How did they explain it? Well, the spell that turns one into an Archmage is beyond the power of a common mage. The trick, then, is to change Universal Truth, so that they have always been meant to be Archmages. It is the moment of satori that the first step to archmastery.
It felt a bit similar here - Twilight was given the final concept with the book - the final journey is about one's destiny fullfilled. Starswirl's mistake was to ignore the link between Friendship and Magic. Twilight's friends gave her the satori - she was an alicorn ever since the link between them had been bound. She just had to let destiny go.

Re: The My Little Pony thread.
Hmm... *ponders* Meghan McCarthy just said that today's episode is sort of a 3-parter, with the 2nd and 3rd part being the premiere of S4...

*shakes fist* The episode is starting to grow on me.
The last part is still pretty terrible, due to pacing issues.
But I am actually starting to have hopes for S4

Re: The My Little Pony thread.
I found the episode a little ... short. I felt like this one episode could've been split into two bits. Sort of like what you guys have been saying, I guess.
Part 1: Fixing the marks, fixing the spell and ending with her disappearance.
Part 2: Twilight faces some challenges during her evolution while her friends try to find her, ending with the coronation.
Wasn't a great episode in my book, but I didn't hate it either. Guess I too will hold my final judgement until S4.
Also? I bet the YouTube brony community is having a field day with all these songs.

Re: The My Little Pony thread.
I dunno, I decided to step away from most of the fandom... I got soured on the series and the fandom itself with all the drama prior, during and post-facto the airing of the episode.
I am holding my hopes for S4, but if this becomes the Twilight Sparkle Show in S4, I am done for.
I'll continue working on all the chinese comics and editing them into english for as long as it's needed...

On another note, how do we feel about Rainbow Rarity? I think that cutie mark suited her quite well!
