I couldn't help to notice
a) Celestia's face at the end
b) I ALMOST saw a "To be Continued" down there. It's going to lead up somewhere. Somehow.

I think her face was just an awkward/embarrassed-face like the rest of them?
I do love Discord though, and it'd be wonderful to see more of him. Think we'll see him walking around Ponyville much, just chillin' in the background with Derpy?

Sweet Mother of Celestia. What the HAY is going on with the whole 'New Twilight' (to avoid spoilers) reactions?
I'm not a big fan of the idea, and I've seen some responsible and reasonable points being made (Shameless plug), but some people are really pushing it into bile-spewing and don't care much about the "love and tolerate" banner being stomped in the mud.
Sorry, but right now, I'm just going to sit in my corner and wait for the next episodes.

Re: The My Little Pony thread.
I think the worst part is the bystanders getting caught in the crossfire... like Faust, which hasn't worked in the show since halfway thru S2...
On the other hand, some of the big names in the fandom aren't helping by actively trolling/mocking the people that are flustered/upset -- thus making them more flustered/upset.
Not sure how responsible/reasonable you think I am though -- I'm just an old, jaded, guy.

Re: The My Little Pony thread.
Your flame levels rate in the negative Celsius - there's a reason I plugged you in "reasonable, responsible" category.
No, I'm irate about people stating their fears and opinions as undeniable fact. THat's putting back the "fanatic" in "fan" right there. I'm also irritated by people saying "Stop whining! Everything's going to be fine".
No one is fooled - it's going to be big, and like anything big, it could fail big. But "could" should never be confused with "will". I could give cookies for everyone to drop the torches, and the pitchforks, pick the teaset and the monocle back, wipe them up and resume intelligent discussion with the appropriate care about possibilities. And yes, it will end up in "we won't know until we get there", but that doesn't mean the discussion is not interesting.

Interestingly, this is also the WoW fandom in a nutshell.

Yup, which is why I am upset with the likes of pixelkitties, and others, that went from "Stop whining" to seemingly go out of their way to actually aggravate the people that are plothurt...
Seriously, it doesn't help... it just adds fuel to the fire...

Re: The My Little Pony thread.
Soooooooooo! New Twilight, good or bad?
Without making calls on the story-side, on the meta level, I'm saying bad, because for the very first time the fanbase has suffer a major break. Derpy was a near-miss, but even the most optimistic were bummed at that story, so almost everyone was on the same line.
Here, the split is clear and will pretty hard to mend - one way or another, something will give and even if the series continues without so much as a bump, things won't probably ever be the same.
Also, this was a *nasty* precedent as to how the fandom handles its own divisions. It was already visible with the ridicule some sub-bases suffered, but it's been put under clear light that bronies *hate* when the show is "done wrong".
Pretty sad for something born out of the "love and tolerate" motto. The best we can hope for is that every raging critic, on both sides will move away, and leave us with a more peaceful fanbase. Yeah. Right.
Buuuuuut, when you accept that we're bucked anyway... Popcorn please!

Re: The My Little Pony thread.
Pretty much feel the same way about the whole situation.
I just want to step back and see everyone else go at it.
Makes me not want to be part of the fandom; just glad I was never actively involved 'cept for making the 4komas available in english, which is good since they are set in their own universe.

Re: The My Little Pony thread.
I haven't missed an episode, have I?
I thank you for your spoiler-awareness, but it is evident that something has happened or is going to happen and, while I don't want to know the details, I just wanted to make sure I haven't skipped an episode or something.
Are you guys reading scripts or something? Or is there a comic that releases before the show, like manga etc? My fandom is sadly confined to the series.

Entertainment weekly, among other sources, spoiled season 3 finale, which includes a very controversial change... Which has divided the fandom a lot.
Ironically, i think derpy will be back in the finale

If your body is ready, it's on the Hub's Facebook page, big, bold an inmastakable.
If you REALLY want to avoid spoilers, I'd suggest ducking so deep below the radar as to avoid *ANYTHING* pony-related till the 16th. It's a shitstorm that would put the Sahara to shame out there.
