Re: Relationships
Job contract not getting renewed is setting the tone for me atm. Year can still go both ways, depending on how fast I can find a job again.
getting, or even looking for, a new relation moved to the bottom of my list of priorities.

Ouch :-/
Meanwhile, as my gaming is taking a novedive I'm jumping ships like mad to counteract, I just came back from a very interesting job interview that I'm guesstimating will succeed.
It's going to be a MAD year, and I'm both extactic and terrified to live it!

I'd rather do Scion. I've got this character sheet for a gigantic, muscular, yet shy and short-spoken farm boy, that's a scion of Baldur.
Name's Mac. They call him Big Mac. Catchphrase: "Eeeeeeyup"

Eww Scion XD
Still, you're missing out. Right now I'm in a table that plays something not unlike the lovechild of Warhammer 40k and Firefly/Cowboy Bebop, and as soon as 3E comes around I'll get more gears to turn and make something to play.

Here's a question that I may have asked before: Where do you go to meet (single) people if you don't drink?

Also, if you don't go to church... as those two things are basically where I've heard most relationship stories start...

Try signing up for some local club/hobby group for something your interested in.
Or maybe some classes at the local community college.
Stand on the sidewalk with a sign that says, "Will you go out with me?"

You can still go to bars if you don't drink. Dance clubs in particular.

that doesnt help when you are
1) fat
2) cant dance
3) live in a small city with no dance clubs, and most bars are filled with the older crowd or dumbass country kids that cant get beer at home/are 21 so they dont have to get it at home anymore
and 4) an introvert
not sure if any apply to Sabin, but they work for me

nailed at least 2 out of 4 bro. Not sure about the "introvert" thing but it's probably true.

Or bar/coffeehouse/venue where an event is going on - poetry, comedy, musicians etc. Open mic might be a good thing or may be terrible. Gives you something to focus on and not feel self-conscious as well as providing something to talk about.

1) Excuse, just because you're fat doesn't mean anything. Unless you're 800 lbs and your legs literally cannot support you. Then you have more important issues than a bed buddy.
2) Excuse. Have you seen the shit they call dancing these days? Getting mostly naked and shaking chest/hips around. Doesn't require a whole lotta skill.
3) I'll grant that one if you're in the between-bracket.
4) Excuse. If you want to meet potential romantic interests, being shy and hiding your head in a bucket a la ostrich is dumb. No one cares about the buckethead in the corner. You'd have to show them why they should be interested in you, which means shedding buckethead persona.

Mostly I don't find people like that. They run by me or a friend shows me them and so on. I met my girlfriend when another friend of mine that studies with me asked my help to make her a song.Sabindeus wrote:Here's a question that I may have asked before: Where do you go to meet (single) people if you don't drink?
Most of them did start once I followed this advice as well. I'm still shy as fuck but if I'm interested I'll reach out of my comfort zone. The current one started when I looked at her the second time we ever met and said "Let's go somewhere else? This music is horrible."Amirya wrote:4) Excuse. And to add another shiny layer of facts no one believes me when I tell them: She called and told me she basically spent the day in RJ with Bon Jovi (she's a fan for like 30 years now).

most women, at least around here, wont give you a second look unless you are a beanpole..stop laughing i am serious
either they are young idiots, or old and shudder worthy...im not that desperate for a bed buddy as ami put it
dancing...unless it is /dance i cant to it at all...well at least to what they play in most clubs. if i could find a club that played big band swing music, i would be scrawny as fuck due to LOVING to swing dance...i can also waltz (just way out of practice)
as for being out going...it is painful at times for me to try to open up to someone like that
i can...but its rare and takes me a while to get there

This might be counter-productive to your point. But most of my friends are extroverts who love being loud/Talking to people. Whenever they drag me along to bars/clubs/house parties, (Which is extremely rare, even more so now that I'm in a serious relationship) I normally sit in the corner, or focus on my own thing. Suprisingly I got more women interested in me than all my friends. And I'd get a lot of shit for "Stealing their romantic Interest" By doing nothing..... O.o

Sadly while I have friends like that, they're all a) not around me anymore due to geographic diffusion, b) in relationships anyway so less likely for anything like that to happen even if they were around
