Re: All about sports
I met a girl online and we communicate via text and Skype for several years without ever seeing each other. She could have been a hoax or the real deal - I wouldn't know differently.
Eventually we exchanged visits (she turned out to be real), and we've now been married for 9 years.
So it's not out of the realm of possibility that he would have an online girlfriend that he's never met, and it could be a serious thing.

Re: All about sports
i'm all chip'd up right now.
all chips are in...get it? get it?
i am pretty excited though...don't want michael vick anywhere near this offense. that guy couldn't read a defense if his life depended on it.
I'm okay with foles...almost all of the qb's in this draft are "meh"...probably no better ceilings than foles.

Re: All about sports
to be honest...i want none of the above.
the eagles need some sort of playmaker. i personally don't see that in Smith. Flynn...couldn't beat out rookie Wilson...not Wilson of right now...but rookie Wilson.
Cousins...not sure what to think about him. His offensive line was one of the better lines in the league. The eagles o-line is putrid...not sure how any of them would have done with this o-line.
Foles does have talent...he was even thought to go 2nd behind luck before the 2011 year...the problem was that he had about the same year as the year before. his footwork still wasn't good...didn't improve accuracy on the deep ball either...plus one of the worst o-lines in college football.
maybe he stays...maybe he's gone after this year if chip finds someone else...but kelly loves foles...was quoted in 2011 stating as much and said it again.

Redskins offensive line good? Laughable
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

Re: All about sports
That's not exactly accurate about Flynn. What hasn't gotten much run is that Flynn was injured at the beginning of the year. Wilson had played really well in the preseason. Flynn did fine too, but the injury limited his reps quite a bit, and a couple of weeks in he had to sit out because of it, and it kept pestering through the start of the season.twinkfist wrote:to be honest...i want none of the above.

Wilson wasn't selected purely because he was better than Flynn at that moment, Seattle also believed he had a bigger upside, and it's hard to argue with his results. I don't know that I'd discount Flynn just because he was beat out by a guy that ultimately had a QB rating higher than Tom Brady, which ignores what Wilson brings to the running game. Flynn's not a sure thing, but he's definitely worth a look.

Seriously though, some of the quotes I've heard attributed to him and his family (as you pointed out) seem pretty damning. Granted, I don't know their full context, I was just hearing folks talk about it on the radio, but if they're true it's hard to imagine that he wasn't involved in this and not a victim.

One half a Harg-bowl -- not sure how I feel.
I gotta say that Harbaugh is looking like a genius for going with Kaepernick since mid-season.

Kaepernick amazes me. Not his play, but the fact that he has stereoscopic vision with eyes set that close together.

Crap, crap,crap...it's an all-chin bowl....
The pimping of the Lewis dance will be nauseating over the next two weeks. I put the over/under on the number of times we see it over the next 2 weeks at 600.
This is the first time I can remember a SB where I really really wish both teams would loose.

Re: All about sports
I have always been annoyed at helmet to helmet hits seemingly always going against the defender since it always seem to be the ball carrier ducking into the hit causing the helmet to helmet hit in the first place. The Pollard/Ridley hit shows this clearly. Ridley ducks into the hit driving his helmet into Pollard's, luckily no penalty was called.
We live in a society where people born on third base constantly try to steal second, yet we expect people born with two strikes against them to hit a homerun on the first pitch.

Re: All about sports
That wasn't a questionable hit. Helmet to helmet hits aren't illegal unless the player is defenseless, and Ridley was not only not defenseless but the instigator. There's no possible way they could enforce helmet to helmet hits against runners who are trying to make the opponent miss and who often lower their heads themselves.
The rule annoys me too because defenders getting blocked can be vulnerable, but by rule, I don't think defenders are ever considered defenseless. It seems to only apply to players making a play on the ball, or the qb because they are in a vulnerable position. That shot Pitta took would have drawn a flag if a Ravens were on defense.

Re: All about sports
I'm glad that the Harbaugh family is going to enjoy the Super Bowl so much. I'm trying to find something to root for.
So far, It's that maybe Randy Moss, the new, quiet, and "grown up" Randy Moss will get the one thing that would give his career the "cherry on top".
I honestly think I'll be rooting for the niners, if only because their win will keep the worst "year" in sports from happening to Cleveland Fans. Lebron wins NBA Title, and then the Ravens win the Super Bowl? The only way it could have been worse? VMart doesn't blow out his knee, and he leads the Tigers to the World Series win.

I'm a little too far north for that. But... 1hr 15 min drive doesn't put him much further south than myself.
EDIT:
And the only Reds Fan I know has severe MS, and no license either.
