@bldavis I think that when you use pain meds to actually combat pain, you don't feel the "impairedness", but only actually feel it if you cover the pain and then some (or have a low tolerance).
Living with constant migraine for 10 years I've been on some pretty mad doses of ibuprofen at times (1600mg, 3x/day) and never felt impaired (now when I used Vioxx otoh - also had a mild stroke shortly after I stopped using it, and about a month later Vioxx and clots/strokes/sudden death syndrome was linked)

running Will as ret, got to see a group run through 3 different languages trying to tell one tank to move the boss out of the center of the room. None seemed to take. I finally ended up taunt-chaining and running until he was in place, and hoped the guy kept him there.

I totally missed my opportunity to HoP a tank and *not* have the raid freak

There are some geese a block away from the office, and I just saw one get ran over by a pick-up truck -- I thought it was dead, but then it stood up, flapped its wings, shook its head and walked away, like a boss.

I realised the only thing I miss about WoW is my guild atmosphere. I've been taking a break over the new year and honestly I don't miss the game at all, but I'll probably stick around just to keep in touch with Ami et al.

My ex-boss (female) quotes on the matter:
When told a worker's wife is having a child:
"How could you do this to me?"
When told that another worker would have in a kid a few months:
"Are you guys crazy all of a suden?"

When i told her i was getting married:
"At least i hope she isn't pregnant"

When i was ordered to stay home due to small pox:
"Are you ok for us to send you your laptop so you can work from home? Your colleague already left 15minutes ago and should be arrive at your home with it."

When she comed to work with a serious flu and couldn't type a understandable e-mail:
"A real men doesn't stay at home when sick"
When the 50% team got sick because above flu was contagious and stayed home to prevent spreading:
"These guys use any excuse to stay at home"

P.S. But despite all things above, in the 5years i worked for her, she never reported any worker as sick to HR.
